Riki For Creem Magazine

Buying a house has so taken over my life that I completely forgot I had never shared with you guys all the outtakes from my shoot with an LA based musician named Riki for Creem Magazine. Way back in June I was in LA because I wanted to visit my brother and his family and I had some photos in a Superchief show so that seemed like the perfect excuse to get out there. LA is an expensive trip even when I am sleeping on my brother’s couch, so I reached out to some clients to see if I could find some work out there and one of those was Creem Magazine.

I have worked for Fred, my editor at Creem, for years back when he worked for Brooklyn Vegan and then later when he was working for Vice and Noisey and now that he’s at Creem we had been looking for a reason to work together but things kept falling through. He wanted me to shoot some photos for the “Creem Dreem” section because it’s about sexy musicians, and I am of course me. So I started reaching out to LA friends about musicians that might work and found two that Creem was interested in. I reached out to both of them and one was on tour and the other I never heard back from. I guess it wasn’t going to work out…

My friend Chad Alva gave me a bunch of great suggestions including Anastasiya who I ended up doing two photo shoots with while I was out there, one of which I still need to publish, but his suggestion they really loved was Riki. I only had her Instagram account and I saw she had never read my message so I reached out to him again to see if he would text her for me in case she hadn’t seen the IG message and it turned out she just doesn’t really mess with social media that much and hadn’t seen it. Unfortunately the day she finally got in touch with me was my last day in town and she was all the way out in San Pedro, about an hour from where I was on the eastside of LA. But fuck it, I was down and I jumped in the rental car and headed out there.

I probably would have had her meet me somewhere in the middle but she wasn’t quite ready and I knew a great place to shoot in San Pedro. My friend Aiden Ashley lived out there and we did an amazing shoot with Leda Elizabeth out there on an old military base. We shot in right before the pandemic and it’s one of my all time favorite shoots. (You can see the whole thing on Girls of DBB if you are interested in that kinda thing.) So I told Riki to meet me out there…

And of course when we got there it was closed to the public. Fortunately San Pedro is home to the Port of Los Angeles and there’s all sorts of cool stuff out there. Riki had a few outfit changes so we just walked around and took photos for an hour or so. We hit it off great and I think we took some really fun photos and honestly I can’t wait to take her photo again even if it’s not for something as cool as Creem Magazine. Seriously she is such good people and you should go listen to her music

We took a ton of film and digital photos, but this edit is pretty small because it’s more or less the edit I sent to Creem and I think I am fine with just publishing the highlights. Some of the film photos were in my original 2025 35mm post, but there’s new stuff in here plus a bunch of digitals. I hope you dig the photos.

Now go look at Riki’s Creem Dreem feature and then come back to see all the outtakes below!

35mm Film Dump – 11.21.25

The very first post on this redesigned website was a film dump from late 2024/early 2025, and I am back with another one for a few related reasons: 1) I don’t think I am going to develop any more film in 2025 so this is a good year end post a month early 2) I need content to post 3) I haven’t updated this site in a month. Why is that you ask? Well, I bought a house.

As I mentioned in that B-Side post linked above, I bought a house in late August. Since then I have been absolutely consumed by the house. We had to do a bunch of renovations before moving in, we had to pack in less time than expected because our old apartment got rented immediately and since we have moved it has been non stop. I was up until 2:30am last night because I was building Ikea shelves. We still have so much goddamn stuff to do that I am pretty sure I am going to be completely underwater until like March, but I guess that’s what happens when you buy a sixty year old house built on a swamp. That being said, it’s fucking awesome and I am so excited to be in my new office even though it’s missing a light fixture, more Ikea shelves and blinds on the windows.

Anyway, I wanted to give you some film to hold you over while I go through life not taking any fucking pictures because I am consumed with house. Let me pull up this gallery real quick and go over what’s inside…

We got a bunch of photos from my trip to LA for a Superchief show I had some art in. Really used it as an excuse to see my brother and his kids and a reason to shoot some photos. You have seen the digital photos from Leda and Anastasiya already, but I do have a second Anastasiya shoot I need to post sooner or later. On that same trip I shot a musician named Riki for Creem Magazine and I have no idea why haven’t posted those yet as that has been out for a while. Aside from Leda those shoots were pretty tame but there are some NSFW photos I posted exclusively on Girls of DBB if you are interested in that sort of thing.

Speaking of NSFW, this film dump also includes all my Gathering of the Juggalos 35mm stuff, including plenty of NSFW stuff (again exclusive to Girls of DBB), my run in with Channel 5 (video out January 1st), and plenty of assorted chaos. There are some local North Carolina road trip stuff in here as well including trips to South of the Border and a Strawberry festival. Weirdly enough the Strawberry festival photos might be my favorite shots of the whole film dump.

Let’s see what else? We got a NYC trip with some safe for work photos of my old pal Daniella as well as some mediocre street photography. I got photos from my vacation to Delaware this summer to see my parents and my yearly “fishing trip” with three of my childhood best friends, although we rarely actually go fishing. I also proposed to my fiance there so there’s a photo I took on that day. I saw my brother and his kids again there and they also visited us in NC so I had a TON of photos of his kids and my family and stuff, but I just gave you a few highlights cause I feel weird posting a lot of that stuff.

Lastly this post teases at two projects I am working on, a vanity license plate zine and a book called Nothing But Flower that features nature taking over civilization. I was hoping it would be out this fall, but looking like early 2026 for that one. The book is done, but my friend Teddy needs to finish the design and he’s too busy winning Emmys to help. In all seriousness have plans on working on it in early December so hopefully we can get it finished soon.

I think that’s it, but just to plug Girls of DBB one more time, I did post some of the NSFW photos from my last film dump, just so the NSFW gallery would represent all of 2025 (I will update later if I shoot any other nudes this year). And speaking of, someone remind me to book my AVN trip so I can get you guys a bunch more content in 2026.

Okay for real that is it, enjoy a bunch of film I shot from March to November 2025, I gotta go build another shelf.
