A few weeks ago I dropped some of my friends new music videos on you in a lovely post such as this one.  Today I got three new videos from bands that feature members that I love. I already Tumbled about some of these and I mentioned two of them on this blog, but here they are in living color.

First up is the Hussle Club video for “Good Morning Midnight”.  I have Tumbld about this and I might have linked to it when I blogged about their release party for it.  Second up was also released that at that party but it was not online yet. But the Death Set’s video for “Far Weathered Friends” is online now. And you need to love it. And lastly we have another video I Tumbld, “WTF You Doing In My Mouth?” by the lovely and hilarious Tayisha Busay.  I feel like you need to see them vomit glitter right away.

The legendary Coop showed several new illustrations at Mishka’s 350 Broadway store. Coop is a big collector of toys and so is Greg Mishka.  I have no idea how all of this works but there is some sort of toys that are based on Japanese Kaiju monsters and Greg and Coop are into them so now there are Mishaka tshirts and a glow in the dark  limited art prints designed by Coop based on a NagNag Nag character called Boryoku Genjin. Read this, it might help explain.

Now let me take a step back to say that I don’t really know anything about any of this toy stuff.  I learned all that from a conversation with Greg and a quick google search. I have no idea what any of that means. But what I am familar with is Coop’s work in general.  Coop is famous for his hot rod style, devil girls and classic show flyers for pretty much any cool band that has existed over the last few decades. If you don’t know who Coop is you have still seen his work. And personally I am a huge fan.

Doing this site I meet a lot of famous people and a lot of people I really admire, but this is the first time I have ever asked someone for an autograph on the job.  The Mishka store is only a few blocks from my house so I brought a copy of Coop’s “Devils Advocate” books for him to sign.  I got to talk to him for a bit and I even bought a print. Mishka hooks me up with so stuff that it was actually the first time I have ever paid for anything there… But it was well worh it.

So remember the Hipster Grifter?  Her realy name is Kari Ferrell and she is back in NYC and we got in contact and we went to Sway last night for the Smiths/ Morrissey party. I met her in the LES and we walked pretty much all the way across Manhattan to Sway discussing grifting and the internets and travel and giant genitalia. It was an adventure to tell the grand kids about.

Sway was actually really fun. It was a little too packed but everyone was dancing like crazy and my friend Rony from Rony’s Photobooth was in town. He always takes me out when I am in LA so it was good to get to return the favor. Also he has a super hot girlfriend who was really nice and kept him from assaulting some bodega clerks over the price of a bagel.  I am not sure that happened exactly like that, but it was still good to see them.

Other than that I didn’t take a ton of photos, but I did manage to get some cute ones of Agyness Deyn and people seem to get super excited about her.  It’s understandable since she is super adorable and has always been really nice to me.  So kudos to her.

Oh yeah, and the Hipster Grifter got topless and I managed to still have my wallet at the end of the night.  And no, unfortunately I didn’t get a “hand job with her mouth” or “throw my hot dog down her hall way”.  I guess it has something to do with my lack of  beards. I mean everyone knows she <3 beards.

Update: Aside from Ms. Deyn and Ms Grifter a commenter points out that the guy in the very last picture is none other than Noel Fielding from the British TV show the Mighty Boosh. Now I tried to watch The Boosh exactly once and gave up, but some of my close friends are completely obsessed with it and I am surprised they werent the ones to let me know about it. But yeah, that guy is HUGE in the UK.  Cool.

Okay, I am now officially caught up with party photos. I have been just cranking out stuff for over a week and I need a break last night. I took in Get Him To The Greek instead of shooting somethings I had planned. It was pretty fucking hilarious and I know 4 people who have bit roles in it.

Anyway, the title of this post references the fact that Webster Hall was about 150 degrees all night on Friday and not the Hellish amount of guidos that come to the place on the weekends. It was so fucking hot everyone was melting. I thought I was going to  pass out, but that might just been from lack of sleep. Amazingly I got 8 hours last night though…

Upstairs at Boys and Girls JFK from MSTRKRFT killed it and down stairs at Trash they were doing some ’50s prom theme and they had the place packed all night.  They also had the perfunctory burlesquing making this gallery NSFW. I was so hot and tired that I left pretty early and went and said good bye to my kitten as he left my care last night. It was fun having them while I did, but my cat allergies were not super happy about it.

So by the time I got to Lit Lounge on Thursday I was pretty much done.  I have been shooting three parties a day all week and sleeping very little (per usual) and it is starting to take its toll on me.  I took a few photos and then just wondered down to the DJ booth/ coat check area and just sat down and talked about bullshit with Darenzia for a bit until Arden Leigh showed up with her porn friend and then I took some pictures of them and then got off my ass and took a few more pictures.  Arden is a very rad chick, but she is also a total camera whore and danced around in her underwear begging me to take pictures.  I of course obliged. What is a man to do? I mean the girl is a professional seductress. Seriously, it’s on her business cards. Anyway, this gallery might be a little half assed but there are some pictures of porn stars and dominatrixes and the like and I am sure you will be into that, even if the gallery doesn’t have any actual nudity in it.  I know what you are saying, if there are no nipples then it isn’t art… And I have to give you that.  There is no art here.  But there are some pictures. And you should look at them.

Thursday’s edition of Circa was an after party for the Ninjasonik art show.  I shot that art show but I can’t put it up yet cause I gotta wait for it to be published on Complex.com. So in the mean time you just get to see pictures from the after party. Members of The Death Set, Ninjasonik and Cerebral Ballzy showed up with Hussle Club members Prince Terrence and Carol Sharks DJing like they do every Thursday. Adventures were had, open bars got consumed, and Dances With White Girls played Rob Base.  It may take two to make a thing feel right, but it only takes one click to see all the pictures from Circa at Darkroom on Thursday.

A bunch of people have been telling me I needed to check out Amanda Leopore’s party on Wednesdays at Carnival. It is a gay party, but a photographers dream.  Carnival is a crazy circus themed bar above the Bowlmor bowling lanes and Amanda’s crew dresses in their Wednesday’s best and the combination is insane. I got there late, I was feeling really sick and I had just lost my point and shoot camera in a cab. I was in no mood to shoot and the place was thinning out by the second.  Still, I got some fucking insane shots and I am pretty sure I need to go back next week so I can do this party photographic justice. And you guys need to seriously come with me. This shit is epic.

Oh yeah, and also there was a Zoolander style walk off on the dance floor. For serious.

Project Fathom put on a party on Wednesday at the Knitting Factory to celebrate the release of new music videos by the Death Set (Far Weathered Friends) and Hussle Club (Good Morning Midnight).  They also premiered the Knife Fight No  Rules documentary and of course Hussle Club and The Death Set played some rock and roll.

I was feeling really sick because there are kittens living with me and I am horribly allergic to them.  Lack of sleep combined the terrible decision to shotgun a Monster energy drink combined to destroy any enjoyment I might have had from what was an awesome fucking show.

Hussle Club went on first and did their dark wave dance to the delight of everyone in the crowd.  During their set I Iced Prince Terrence and he was forced to get down on one knee and chug a Smirnoff Ice.  He drank few swigs of it and then spit it all over the crowd creating a sticky mess and some blurry photos. Still, it was pretty fucking funny.

After that the Death Set went on and got the crowd moving.  There was stage diving and moshing and that whole thing.  I was just trying to cling to the stage because I felt like I might pass out any minute. They were awesome, but I wanted to die.  Near the end of their set the brought the entire crowd on stage for two songs.  Suddenly the show got so much better. The Death Set need to be surrounded by the people.  It took the show to an epic level…. plus I got much better photos from on stage… After that they kicked everyone off, closed with a Nirvana cover and Johnny smashed his guitar on stage. Fucking awesome.

Speaking of Sexy. Dances With White Girls got naked at his party at Gallery Bar. Luckily he covered himself with a shirt so you don’t actually have to look at any pictures of Little Dances. I feel like other stuff probably happend but I didn’t get anyone naked in a bathroom or watch a great fist fight this week so I am a little bit disappointed.  I just needed to get like 50 shots for this party site I am working on so I might have phoned it in a little bit. People were dancing hard though.  Really fucking hard actually and these two girls were just rolling all over the place making out. It seems like a good place to hang out at.  I’ll probably be back.
