The day after Christmas I drove to Richmond, VA to hang out with some friends of mine from college.  On the way down that huge snow storm that crippled NYC rolled in and I ended up getting half stranded in this hotel with no internet.  Luckily I had my new iPad and this rad girl named Pamela to hang out with.

She came over despite the snow and we spent a most of the afternoon and evening taking pictures and playing Plants Vs. Zombies on the iPad. I took tons of pictures of her throughout the day.  We shot with flash, with nautral light, with black and white film and with color film.  None of the 35mm stuff is in this gallery but there is a wide mix of stuff.  I had this idea at some point of color ballancing it a bit and trying to get the shots to match a little, but after having this folder sitting around my computer for a few weeks I just decided to put these up the way they are.  And the way they are is pretty okay.

Pam models under the name “The Chemist” because she is studying chemistry in school.  I think the name is terrible branding but who am I to argue? She like’s it and she is a rad babe so she wins.  Aside from having a life changing body, Pam is fucking awesome and I had as fun shooting with her as I have had with anyone.  I hope one of these days she will make a trip up to NYC and we can shoot some more and perhaps more awesome pictures when we aren’t snowed in this weird hotel room.

So I am back from my Vegas/LA trip finally and I took a four hour nap as soon as I got home. Then a few hours later I went to sleep for real and slept for 11 straight hours. Then I woke up for a bit and then took a two hours.  The amount of sleep I have had in the last 24 hours might be more than I had the entire time I was on my trip. It’s pretty fantastic.

While I was gone I only shot a few parties, but I shot about a dozen photo sets of naked girls. Not sure they are all ever going to be posted but I do have just an insane amount of naked content to get to you guys over the next few weeks. I don’t want to put stuff up every day or this site will just turn into a porn site so I will probably spread shit out like every Monday and Friday or something like that.  I really don’t know yet but I do know that before I even get to that stuff I have two more girl galleries from BEFORE my trip that I need to get to. I meant to post these while I was away but evidently I didn’t have the time or working Internet to do it.

The first of those two sets is Isobel Wren. I have known about Isobel for years after one of the guys in The Gaskets found a video of her doing a strip tease to one of their songs on YouTube.  I was managing the band at the time and I hit her up about the video. Turns out she was from Richmond where the Gaskets and I were living and she was a huge Gaskets fan.  Over the years we have talked about shooting but it never happened.  Last time I was in Richmond I did a search on Model Mayhem for girls and I ran into her profile.  I hit her up and she remembered me and invited me over.  She offered me locations of her living room and bedroom but I wasn’t really excited about either. The living room would have been nice but her roommate had put up a dance bar on the wall that had been ripped out so there were a bunch of holes in the wall.  She then mentioned this back room she had that was kinda cool but had no light. I really wanted to shoot some natural light stuff so I wasn’t too hopeful but when I got back there I knew we had to shoot there.

Luckily I had my 50mm 1.4 lens on me and I cranked my ISO up to something that would have been impossibly high only a few years ago and started shooting. If you are not a camera person let’s just say that I was pretty much shooting in the dark. Isobel is a great model so we ended up shooting very fast which was great since I was super alergic to her cat.  I think we got some great, really soft shots that look like they were taken in a hunting lodge or something.  They are really yellow which I thought about fixing in Photoshop but I think it adds to the log cabin feel of this weird back room they have. It sort of reminds me of my grandparents living room in the 80’s.

It has arrived. My last day in LA. I have had some crazy times but I am very much ready to get back to NYC… even if it is snowy and cold. I shot a lot of naked girls on this trip but only one event.  That event is this event which coincidentally also is all about naked girls. Let’s begin.

As you know my friend Jessie Lee was in a very bad car accident.  I have done a few benefits for her but the most successful one was an art show in NYC put on by the Darling House.  They got a ton of amazing photographers together and sold really cheap art to benefit Jessie Lee. When they booked the New York one they also decided to do an LA one and I just happened to be in LA at the time of the show so I got to go!

The LA version of the benefit was held at a very cool space called Studio Servitu. It’s right down town and can be rented for events and photo shoots and that sort of thing but they were kind enough to donate use of the space for the show. They tend to make the events they do there kinda exclusive and maybe a bit mysterious so they weren’t allowing photography. Fortunately I worked it out with them and sort of became the staff photographer for the night.

The show was a lot of fun and I got to talk to a number of artists and models and friends of Jessie. Joanna Angel hosted again and had some very touching words to say about Jessie. There was a sword swallower and burlesque dancers and free pizza! It was all pretty amazing.  I sold a few of my photos and I even talked Kimberly Kane into shooting with me because she liked one of my shots so much.  I told her I would give her a copy of it if she took some photos with me.  She is a total babe and the pictures came out great so that was a pretty big win.

But the highlight of the night was that Jessie Lee actually showed up to the event.  She only stayed for an hour and a half or something but everyone was so glad to see her. She hasn’t really gone out at all since the accident so it was great to see her at the show.

Over all it was a great event.  Thanks for the Darling House for putting it on, my fellow photographers, Crash and Jane Jett for lending us the space and everyone who came and bought some stuff.  (I personally bought a Holly Randal print that is pretty bad ass.)

Here comes the newest installment of All My Friends Are In Bands where I bring you semi regular updates of my friends bands amazing music videos.  Today we have some good ones including one video that I am actually in.  I feel like I should be in all of my friends music videos but clearly they have no idea what they are doing so for whatever reason I don’t end up in all of them. Weird.

Luckily some people are smart enough to realize talent when they see it. Loli Lux is one of those people. She got a two for one deal when she asked me to come hang out at her video shoot.  Not only did I take amazing behind the scenes photos but she got the pure talent that is “Igor” in front of the lens as well.  If you look carefully you can see me lurching around in there taking pictures awkwardly.  It will bestill your heart.  Seriously though, this is the first video from Loli Lux and it is pretty bad ass. She got all of her weird and sexy looking friends, put them in a bar and just started shooting. It was a good time and it ended up being a good video for a good song. Watch that shit.

Next up we have our boys the motherfucking Death Set. I know you guys saw the pictures I took of them with hot tattooed naked girls recently and I am sure you know they have this new album coming out.  Well they just released the first single off that album called “Slap Slap Slap Pound Up Down Snap” and they have a pretty fucking awesome video for it.  This video is so good that they had to release another video just to hype it up. Clearly you need to watch it.

So these updates always come with three videos for some reason and I didn’t have a third video this week.  I solved that problem by uploading this old video of me icing Prince Terrence while Hussle Club was on stage at the Knitting Factory.  Remember when Icing people was so funny? Giving people Smirnoff Ice was like a sport for about a week. If you got one you had to bend down on one knee and rink it.  It was pretty funny for a second and then everyone got over it. Probably for good reason.  I shot this at the very tail end of the Icing craze and by the time I took it off my camera no one cared anymore. I haven’t even looked at this video since. I probably should have edited it or something but I don’t actually give a fuck so enjoy it the way it is. Just skip to the 30 second mark if you are impatient. I gotta go shoot naked girls and hang out in the sun in LA now. Have a nice weekend.

So my last Vegas update is probably the craziest. It is at least the most naked. Burning Angel threw a party at a bar called the Black Door.  I didn’t really know anything about the party until I was asked to pick up these two BA girls Skin and Asphyxia from the bus station.  Those two girls are two of the hottest Burning Angel girls I haven’t met yet and I was pretty happy to pick them up despite it being way out of my way.  I took them back to their hotel and later met up with Joanna Angel and a bunch more BA girls and friends and crazy people that all piled into a giant party bus and headed off to this bar.  The madness in the party bus was a clear indication that shit was going to get really weird.  When we got off the bus the G4 network was there to video tape the party. Shit seemed ready to pop off… That is until we walked into the bar…

A bunch of bikers greeted us as we walked into this crowded metal bar. These people were not there for the porn party. They were there to see a band called Dirty Paradise or possibly Dirty Pair of Dice which seems like a funnier name.  The were doing originals when we walked in and everyone looked around like where the fuck are we?  We had a private little area and they gave us a lot of free booze and Dirty Paradise started doing Guns & Roses covers and shit and I started signing GNR really passionately to the girls. I hadn’t slept in a few days and I decided that Guns and Roses was going to wake me up. I am pretty sure I sang a song to Joanna’s vagina at some point. I wasn’t the only one to get crazy and quickly people started getting naked.

Jiz Lee really got that shit going.  She started getting girls naked and doing god knows what to them.  Let’s just say there are a few pictures from the night I decided would be best to be left unposted.  Everyone was making out and Jiz was slapping girls, pulling off clothes and just being fucking charming.  Between me and G4 it was all well documented and luckily people were playing it up for the cameras.  At some point I pulled Kleio Valentien, Skin Diamond and Asphyxia into bathrooms and did mini photo shoots with them. I think there is some really hot, and very NSFW stuff in this gallery.

Also, weirdly enough Dave Navaro showed up and started jamming with the cover band. (Evidently he owns the bar.) It was all a little bit surreal.  In the end I had a lot of fun and took a lot of crazy photos. Clearly you need to stop reading this and start looking at them.

My third Las Vegas post is probably the main reason I went to Vegas… the Adult Entertainment Expo. The AEE is a huge porn convention in the Sands Expo Center that works as industry event where people meet distributors, mingle with talent and check out new products, but it’s also a fan event where porn lovers can come meet their favorite stars, get autographs and pose for pictures.  I am not exactly sure why anyone would want an autograph from a porn star but who am I to judge? I still collect football cards.

The whole thing is a mix of weirdness, creepiness and a a bunch of hot half naked babes. I shoot a lot of these things and they are pretty interesting for a bit but then you have sort of seen everything and they get boring.  I keep coming back because they make for great photography and at this point I have a ton of friends that I only see at these shows so it’s a great opportunity to see everyone. Plus the pictures seem to do well traffic wise and the Village Voice and LA Weekly always buy the galleries.  It’s a pretty good deal.

This year I only covered Friday (and about an hour Sunday morning) because I spent Saturday doing the CES stuff, so there aren’t as many pictures as I have posted of these things in the past.  I also shot the entire thing without a flash because I wanted to see if I could do it.  Yeah, I might have missed some shots but I got some pretty nice ones and I didn’t have to carry around my flash all day. Anyway, I am going to stop talking now. Come back tomorrow for the craziest pictures from my Vegas trip!

So as you should know by now I am in LA and one of the things I am very excited to do here is to go to Jessie Lee’s benefit thrown by the Darling House on Thursday. This is a big art show featuring a ton of amazing artists.  We did this same show in NYC at Beauty Bar and made a ton of money for Jessie Lee and sold a lot of art work.  Also the party was fucking crazy and I took some awesome pictures, you should check them out if you haven’t seen them yet.  I have four arts in this show and if you are in LA you can buy them each for $40. In fact ALL the art is $40! You can get work from big name artists for less than a bag of coke! Plus you will be helping out a rad girl.

I hung out with Jessie Lee last night for the first time since her accident and while she looks great can get around and take care of herself she still has a lot of brain damage that make it impossible for her to work and hard to deal with life. She has a lot of vision problems, she has a lot of social anxiety problems and she has only been able to sleep abour 4 hours at a time. She is actually going to be at the show tomorrow but only for an hour.  If you come and you don’t know her if you talk to her make it just a “hello” or something because she is having a lot of anxiety problems talking with strangers.  The doctors say she is going to fully recover but it could take a full year before she does so we have to do what we can to help.  Please donate some money and if you have made a donation please donate some more.  I know I am going to buy another print tomorrow…

One of the reasons I was in Vegas other than to hang with porn stars was to shoot the Consumer Electronics Showcase which happens every year at the same time as the AVNs and the Adult Entertainment Expo. CES is 5 times as big and you can spend days looking at crazy new products that are about to come out.  I decided I would spend all Friday at the AEE and all Saturday at CES.

My friend Tom decided to visit from LA on Saturday. As I mentioned yesterday someone magically gave him a $300 ticket to the AVN Awards.  He just seemed to be having a good luck streak. When he showed up on Saturday I was headed to CES but I decided to go back and meet him. He was going to try to get a pass to the convention but after getting lost in the Venetian and trying to find me it was 3pm by the time he was told it was going to cost him $200 to attend the CES.  But I had an idea.  I convinced him to get on the shuttle bus over to the Las Vegas Convention Center where the CES was happening.  My thought was that anyone getting on the bus going back to the Venetian might be done for the convention because Sunday is a really slow day and most people head home. I figured we could buy a pass off someone.  After asking four or 5 people a guy in line just gave Tom a pass. Of course by now it was almost 4pm and I only had two hours to shoot the convention.

I sped through most of the buildings in the convention taking any interesting shots I could take as fast as I could.  In the two hours I was there I saw a lot of amazing stuff I wish I could have played with more and took a handfull of pretty good photos that I think do an okay job of representing the convention.

So it’s time to start getting Vegas pictures up. I hope you are excited. I have four galleries and I plan on posting one a day although if I shoot more stuff tonight or tomorrow I might double up and I might always fuck up and not update at all.  That being said, the tentative schedule is AVN Awards pictures today, pictures from CES tomorrow, AEE on Wednesday and finally saving the insane Burning Angel party pictures for last. They are pretty epic, you don’t want to miss that. So let’s get it on…

The AVN Awards for those not in the know are the Adult Video News Awards and they are pretty much the porn oscars. I shot the red carpet last year and honestly it was more trouble than it was worth so this year I tried to change things up. I made sure I got photo access in the actual awards and then I decided to show up late for the red carpet and just catch the very end of it. The carpet was scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 so I figured if I showed up at 7:30 I would be good. The problem is that the press check in was at 5 and when I got to the Palms Casino at 7:30 I had no idea where to go and there were fans everywhere watching the red carpet and I couldn’t even get near it. The Jets/ Colts game was on and I hate the Jets so I watched the end of it screaming in agony when they kicked a last second field goal to win. At this point it was 8pm and I figured I should probably get on the red carpet, but I still didn’t know where to go. I followed the fans up stream of the red carpet until I got to some security and they let me pass even though I was at the wrong end of the red carpet. They told me to walk down to the other end but I realized that by the end of the red carpet I could be away from all the photographers, the last photo they take before they enter the casino and I wouldn’t have to shoot on a step and repeat wall. It worked out perfectly. I also happened to be the only photographer around when Andy Dick got kicked out…

Meanwhile my friend Tom had come down from LA to hang out with me but couldn’t get into the awards so he was just going to play penny slots until I got out of the awards.  He was up $30 when some random guy came up to him and handed him a ticket to the awards.  The tickets cost $300 each and there were hundreds of fans trying to get in, yet somehow he was just handed a ticket.  He texted me that he was inside so I made my way into the show and actually ended up walking up the red carpet myself which was pretty funny.  I shot a bunch of people in the loby and in the auditorium itself. I ran into Justin from Semi Precious Weapons who was with Pauly Shore of all people. That was pretty great. After that I made my way to my seat and I found that there was an empty space next to me so I texted Tom to see if he wanted to come sit with me.  Turns out the ticket he got was a 7th row ticket in the very middle of the stage. He was sitting with all the big porn stars and stuff. It was pretty funny.

The awards themselves were pretty entertaining for a while but there are so many awards that it drags on a bit so I shot a bunch of photos at the bar throughout the night. Lisa Lampanelli was the host and was pretty funny. The highlight was probably when she called Michelle Bombshell a nazi skank without realizing that Michelle Bombshell was actually at the awards. I am not sure if you care who won what or not… I know I don’t but I do want to congratulate a couple of my friends on their big wins. My homie Andy San Dimas won the best actress award for her roll in the porn version of Glee and my friend Joanna Angel won for best porn star website.
