The Music Slut is teaming up with DJ Jess to throw a big 50th birthday party for Morrissey at Trash this Friday. Teddy Blanks, although not a huge Moz fan will be playing 2 Smiths’ songs and a Morrissey song to celebrate. It is the first time Teddy has been on stage in over a year and it is not to be missed. He plays early, like 11pm early, so get there before you normally would. I don’t have an official guest list, but if anyone is 100% going to come, let me know and I will make sure you don’t have to pay some how. Also, as per normal, Trash is reduced if you mention Driven By Boredom at the door.

You ever have one of those nights where your ISO is set to 1250 and you don’t realize it so all the photos you take come out over exposed and you don’t notice because you aren’t really in the mood to be taking photos in the first place?  Last night was one of those nights.  Check out all the over exposed photos here.  I am going to watch a movie.

 Marl May is a Gods Girls who happens to live in Virginia about 45 min south of where I grew up.  When I was visiting my mom for Mothers Day/ her birthday I met up with Marl and we shot these in my parents basement.  My mom was not exactly excited that I was shooting naked photos in her basement.  My mom was a professional photographer before I was born and I thought I had a sound argument.  “How can you be mad about this? I know you have taken nudes before!” To which my mom replied “Yeah, but I didn’t have a website.”  Touche.  I think it is pretty clear by now that I suck at PhotoShop, but I swear when I was editing these they didn’t look so grainy. The Off Broadway Awards (The Obies) were held at Webster Hall last night and then there was a big gay after party.  The Village Voice had me cover the after party, which they sponsored, called Creative Block.  I also covered the burlesque show going on downstairs during the Obies as sort of a spill over event. I saw a bit of the actual award ceremony too, but it was pretty hectic and I couldn’t really hear the presenters in the back.  People were too busy enjoying the free Absinthe… that just happened to be presented by a former, and hopefully future, client Le Tourment Vert.  Village Voice superstar Michael Musto hosted the after party that had crazy circus themed acts, half naked male models as human easels and a robot bar tender.  It was one of the most bizzare parties I have ever attended and that is saying a lot.  These photos are NSFW for female and male (I think) nudity… so be careful, and don’t say I didn’t warn you..

So from time to time I have posted videos from the Onion News Network. They are both hilarious and Peabody Award winning. More importantly, however, is that my little brother is the post production coordinator for them, whatever the hell that means. Anyway, this one seemed extremely appropriate to this website, plus my brother is in it a bunch. He is wearing a red brimmed hat and looking like a douche bag starting about the 48 second mark. Fun times.

Police Slog Through 40,000 Insipid Party Pics To Find Cause Of Dorm Fire

Roxy turned 26 and I had to stay out till 7AM to make sure it all got documented. I hadn’t really slept, but I almost made it. I spent most of 6am – 7 am sleeping on a random girls leg. So to say thanks to her for a place to sleep, check out her music… Anyway, it was a pretty crazy night, and I took like 600 photos and I am posting about 200. That is a biiig post. Due to said bigness, there are a lot of photos below… I wanted to cover my bases or something. Highlights of the night included Jasmine Solano doing a set and convincing Roxy to do a song too, Paloma bringing a turkey baster to the party to steal peoples drinks while they were not looking (very successfully I might add) and my friend Jane Bang showing up with a bunch of cute girls who kept making me take their picture and relentlessly flirting with me. Lowlights included pretty much everyone at the club (Imperial) who was not there for the party (with the exception of some rad girls I know from Cain who were drinking 40oz out of home made pimp chalices), the bouncer who spent 5 minutes searching my bag and feeling me up on my reentry and the 75 minutes it took me to get home due to a fucked up L train. There was also free cotton candy, which was clearly the biggest highlight of them all! In all seriousness, the party was a blast. It seemed like half the Dj’s in NYC were there, everyone got finished spinning at 4 and then showed up. Everyone had a great and the party was still going strong when I left at 7.

Two of my friends and NY night life icons DJ Jess and DJ Bastard have started a new remixing posse called Carpe PM. Now despite the silly name, and sillier eye make up in their press photo these guys know how to make the kids dance. They have been doing NC-17 together at Lit for seemingly ever and they run two of the more successful parties in NYC right now individually. Jess does Trash at Webster every Friday and Bastard does Disco Down every Tuesday at Happy Endings. It is no coincidence that those are pretty much the only parties in NYC I don’t get paid to shoot (they are notoriously cheap…). Anyway, they just released a remix of the Passion Pit song Little Secrets. You can download or stream it below and if you dig it, which of course you will, you can vote for it here. I think if they win they get a free pony plus stable fees for 2 years! I could be wrong though… Still, vote for them anyway, every remix duo needs to own a pony at some point in their careers.

It has been over a week since I posted party pictures, and although I think some of the recent updates have been pretty hilarious I haven’t really posted much of late. The combination of my SXSW burnout, being sick and then being out of town has taken its toll. That being said, I had a crazy weekend and I have three galleries for you in the can. I just have to wait for Inked to give me the shots they need for print so I can post the out takes from the NY Tattoo Convention. I have a naked Gods Girl for you that I need to edit and I have some crazy shots from Roxy Cottontails all night birthday party that I am uploading as we speak. I am shooting on Monday for sure so this could be a busy week. I just want you guys to know that I am not slacking off, it has just been a weird month. So, give me one more nights sleep and I will be back fucking shit up full time…

Hey kids! Roxy is finally turning 21 on Saturday… Can you believe she can finally get into clubs? I am shooting her party and it is going to go all night. It’s at Imperial and there is an open vodka bar from 10-midnight. Lots of great performances and DJ’s it should be a crazy time. Hope to see you kids out there…
