I realized recently that the last time I did any Driven By Boredom clothing it was 2009. I figured it was time to step up my game a little bit and frankly I wanted my own black on black DBB Snapback. Fortunately a friend of mine who does the embroidery for another thing I do asked me to shoot his daughter’s Sweet 16 party. Normally I would have said no, but the guy is a good friend and has done a lot for me so I pitched him the idea of a trade. So a few weeks ago I shot his daughters 16th birthday in what was one of the most surreal events I have ever photographed. Did you know 16 year olds love the Electric Slide? And somehow Soulja Boy is still popular? Wild.

(I actually have shot one other Sweet 16 party but it was for current Fool’s Gold recording artist Leaf and Usher was there an Dev and Shwazye performed so it was kinda a different thing.)

Anyway, in exchange for shooting the party I got a couple dozen hats. I got a dozen black on black, six magenta (pink) and six red. Since I am stealing one of each of them there’s very few left so if you want one you better get one now.

The hats are $28 which is a compromise between the $25 I wanted to sell em for and the $30 that I probably should sell them for to justify a shooting a 16 year old girl birthday party.

I shot my friend Bel Vargas in the hats last night but I didn’t really think about shooting any safe for work stuff because I am an idiot so I guess you are just gonna have to deal with some nipples.

Before I left town for a few weeks I photographed Brandy Aniston in her Manhattan hotel room. Our plan was mostly to take topless photos in Times Square for the public nudity zine I am working. The zine is going to be mostly 35mm so I just wanted to shoot film in Times Square, but I had been trying to shoot Brandy for years so I wanted to get some digital shots too. We only had about 10 minutes to shoot in her room because I had plans right after so we just banged it out real quick.

I posted the full set, including some extra porny images on Girls Of Driven By Boredom before I left town but I had this set all ready to go so I figured I would get it up now. It’s a pretty small set and clearly very rushed, but Brandy is really cool looking so I think you are gonna be glad it exists. Like she’s so porno looking which isn’t normally my thing but there is something about her that makes you just wanna do terrible shit to her but like also go hang out with her at a dive bar afterwards. Maybe it’s just the tattoos and I am that predictable. Who knows but I am glad I finally got to shoot her and hopefully I will get more than 15 minutes next time.

My Gathering of the Juggalos trip directly into vacation was supposed to be over already but my parents are retiring and just sold their home so I ended up taking an extra day and a half to help them with everything. Part of it was just wanting to spend an extra night in my childhood home before some strangers are living in it even though my parents gave my bed away already. But I will be back in NYC tonight and back to work. I got a lot of shit to do and a lot of projects to work on. I have stuff I am working on for September, November, December and January so it should be an exciting couple of months unless I run out of money and have to get a real job.

This is it. The very last 2015 Gathering of the Juggalos update. You made it! Now we can go back to naked porn stars and hipster parties and shit. Get excited. As soon as I get back from vacation I will hit you with a few naked babes to make up for all the juggalos.

This post is just a dump of everything left over from the Gathering. It starts with the very first photo I took of a car that was being signed by everyone and ends with a photo of some wrestlers moving a safe. (Just FYI I was told on good authority that the car was signed by Tech N9ne’s tattoo artist so it’s pretty valuable.)

In here we have a lot of juggalo photos that weren’t quite good enough to make the Juggalo Portraits gallery plus photos of stuff for sale, some crowd shots, pictures of juggalo campsites and vehicles and some of the Wolfpac/ Psychopathic Radios events that didn’t make it in the fight club update. There’s also some juggalo tattoos and some pictures of juggalos getting tattoos. No photo of my new juggalo tattoo though…

This is my favorite Gathering of the Juggalos update and the second to last. The final update will just be a dump of everything that didn’t fit into another category so I saved the best for second to last.

These are my favorite juggalo photos (although I pulled a few NSFW favorites out for the naked juggalettes update). This is the gallery I am gonna pull from when I finally do my juggalo book. 

The only problem with this gallery is that it features 75 images and least 50 of them are a fantastic. It’s almost too easy to take good juggalo photos. Every day when the sun would start to go down I would have about 90 minutes where every photo I took came out great. Festivals suck because of the harsh light during the day, but once magic hour hits the shots can be great… especially when your subjects are dressed as terrifying clowns.

Now because Amtrak blocked my website I am updating this using my iPhones hot spot so I am gonna make this quick. When I get to DC my vacation officially starts but I am gonna try and get the final update written while on the train so all I have left to do is upload the gallery and hit send on the post tomorrow and then I can just ignore everything until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Hopefully you remember Mike Busey and his Busey Beauties from last year. If not him or his girls you certainly remember Big LA the giant stomached man who went viral after grinding on girls with his gut. They aren’t exactly juggalos but they put on crazy shows and give juggalos lap dances if you buy a t-shirt so juggalos (and photographers love them).

I ran into them when I was shooting Ho99o9 and I saw them getting on the Tilt-A-Whirl. I jumped on it too and took photos of them (which was really difficult) while riding the ride. After that Mike told me he had become a fan of my photography since I got him in Rolling Stone last year and we immediately set up a shot of him and his girls in a port-a-potty. Good times.

His crew is so photogenic I actually had to make an effort not to just spend all my time hanging out with them. As a photographer it’s hard not to want to photograph them and as a scumbag it’s hard not to flirt with half naked fire breathing strippers. I think I managed to do an okay job shooting other things, but I do have an odd number of people in my phone with the last name Busey now.

Also I should mention that Vine star Charlie Classic was there as well. I don’t know fucking anything about Vine since they stopped allowing nudity and I got kicked myself kicked off with a naked Vine titled “Fuck your terms of service”. That being said I had a couple of my Instagram & Twitter followers tell me I should go meet him. Seems like a good dude and also kinda a scumbag which means I like him even more.

Wanted to come at you guys with a late night post featuring late night things. Really I am just trying to organize these Gathering of the Juggalos photos into as few updates as possible so we can all get on with out lives. Plus I am going on vacation tomorrow so I don’t want to be doing this while I am supposed to be fishing. Yeah, I am going fishing. I go every year. Deal with it.

Anyway, this post is pretty much just all the photos I took using the rented flash that I had to drive 90 minutes to get because I left mine at home because I was on two hours of sleep when I packed. Most of these photos are just photos of juggalos but we got some other stuff going on. After the headlining band plays at the Gathering there is about 5 hours of events going on including a dance party every night featuring various DJs and dancers and stuff. Plus there is comedy and wrestling. I didn’t do any of the wrestling this year but I did hang out with Colt Cabana a couple times if that counts for anything.

I also caught Big Jay Oakerson and Judah Friedlander’s comedy sets. Well I caught part of Oakerson’s but left because I don’t hate women or gay people but that’s just me. Friedlander was really funny but I run into that dude in NYC from time to time so maybe our sensibilities are a bit closer in line than Big Jay Oakerson. True fact: Once when waiting for a friend in Times Square a guy promoting a Judah Friedlander show was so certain I was him that he started telling everyone who passed that I was playing that night. I had to tell a dozen people I wasn’t him before I decided to wait inside the movie theater…

Every year I come back from the Gathering of the Juggalos with a massive amount of naked photos of juggalettes and do a naked juggalette or juggallette porn gallery or whatever it is. This year things were a bit more sparse. Not sure if it was just me slacking on the nudity (I can only photograph so many boobs…) or the new wave of juggalo feminism or what but my naked juggalette gallery is pretty sparse this year. It’s about 25 images and not all of them are actually naked (or juggalettes).

If I were you I wouldn’t stress it too much though, because when I post a the Busey’s Beauties gallery you will get all the nudity you can deal with.  Actually I am gonna combine this gallery and the Busey’s Beauties gallery into one extra naked gallery and post the high res images to Girls Of Driven By Boredom right now.

When I heard that my friend Angel Beau just happened to be feature dancing in Dayton, OH just 90 minutes from the Gathering of the Juggalos I got really excited. She hit me up to let me know that she was going to be performing with the LA based sideshow crew Freakshow Deluxe. Angel is one of my favorite humans and I was excited I got to show her the weirdness that is the Gathering of the Juggalos.

I am trying to get as many photos as possible up before I leave town so I am going to make this quick but I just wanted to give you a quick breakdown of some of the acts in order so if you are looking at the massive gallery of images you can follow along. They came out with a group grinding act followed by a blockhead act and then into walking/jumping on broken glass. There was an escape artist act which is always really fun followed by Angel walking on knives which I saw her do with the Suicide Sirens ages ago. After that reverend Tommy Gun lifted a heavy chandelier with his ears, nipples and, I swear to god, his penis. It was covered for most of the show but there was a horrifying reveal quickly that I missed photographing. Next Miss Malice swallowed a balloon, there was a bed of nails act involving another photographer, and more painful feats involving animal traps. Let’s see what else? There was a whip act which is pretty scary up close and a human pin cushion act which always freaks people out. And then the act ended with some fire eating and possibly my favorite part when Tommy Gunn attached a bunch of fireworks to his stomach and set them off. I think I still have some shrapnel in my eye. That’s it.

The truth is I didn’t shoot a lot of music at the Gathering of the Juggalos. I tried to hit the headliners and stuff but I decided not to spend too much time doing it and I also decided I wasn’t going to shoot the Psychopathic Records bands aside from Twistid and ICP. This was my 6th Gathering and I think I have far too many photos of bands that no one outside of juggalos has ever heard of. So to my juggalo fans, sorry.

I also only took a handful of photos of Twistid and didn’t shoot ICP at all because I got stuck backstage. Seriously the security wouldn’t let me get back out to the crowd so I could go to the front of the stage. It was totally insane. Eventually I went around the back way but by the time I got near the stage the photographers were being kicked out of the pit. I did take some wide shots though.

As far as non Psychopathic bands I shot Hopsin and Tech N9ne on the first night and also got to shoot DJ Paul of Three Six Mafia fame again. His set was really late at night so I was planning on skipping it but I got in a long conversation with a hot lady and a pro wrestler and by the time I was about to leave he was going on. I have shot him before and bought hot sauce from him before but I am never upset about hearing Three Six songs.

Flosstradamus DJ’d which was cool since I have photographed those guys a half dozen times in my nightlife career. I actually didn’t get to the stage in time to shoot them from the pit but I shot them from the side of the stage and got a couple snaps at the end. J2k got hit in the face with a rock so I got a nice shot of him with a bloody towel. It ended up on his Instagram actually.

Let’s see… what else? I took a few photos of Puddle of Mudd which I was ready to make fun of but then they played War Pigs by Sabbath and I changed my mind about them. Hard not to make fun of Mushroomhead who up close look to be wearing cheap halloween masks and the best part of their set was their water drums which they might have stolen from the Blue Man Group. I actually don’t even remember what their music sounds like because it was so silly.

Oh and Twista was awesome but he kept shouting out Ohio to the crowd as if everyone who came to the show was from Thornville, OH. Still, that dude is real impressive.
