Okay, so here is a totally weird gallery for me to be posting. Several years ago I shot my friend Cailey at Mishka’s 350 Broadway store in Brooklyn. She used to work there and we thought it would be a fun location to shoot. She didn’t want to get fully naked so we put stickers and little buttons over her nipples and took some pretty photos of her. We then Instagramed a photo of her (Did you guys know I got my IG old user name back!) and some people started talking shit because people are assholes who think women are whores for expressing the tiniest bit of sexuality. After that total bummer she decided she didn’t want some of the sexier stuff online so I did my normal edit and sent her the photos to ask her which ones she wanted me to take down. Her computer was broken at the time and then she was moving or something and she never got around to letting me know what photos she was okay with, meanwhile the photos were up on my site deep in the gallery pages but never on the front page. Eventually I just forgot about it and Cailey moved to Vegas with her boyfriend and that was that.

That is until I ran into her in Vegas a couple weeks ago! I randomly ran into her at a casino which is amazing because I probably haven’t seen her since we took these photos like two years ago. It was great to see her and I remember that at some point she gave me the go ahead to post these. I had already put them up on the Girls of DBB App but I waited until now to post the pictures because… well I don’t really have any excuse! Enjoy!

For someone who is not a big fan of burlesque I seem to shoot a lot of it but for once I was looking forward to it. When I was in Vegas for the AVN Awards I not only got a chance to check out my friend Angel Beau’s sideshow burlesque troop called the Suicide Sirens but I got paid for it! I pitched the idea of doing a story on them to Hustler Magazine and I shot portraits and behind the scenes shots of Angel and her Siren pals Chelsea La Vone and Jesabella Marie. The back stage stuff was fully nude and a lot of fun and Chelsea’s mom was there which was kinda awesome and slightly creepy at the same time. My favorite line of the night was “Chelsea you promised me you wouldn’t shoot nudes, but at least I am here for it.” Classic mom!

After the photo shoot I stuck around for the show and photographed their insane performance for you guys! They mix burlesque with sideshow and in Jessabella’s case contortion and it’s pretty rad. Since it was AVN Week it was hosted by porn ladies Shay Lynn and Eliza Allure. Also my friend Felony Melanie from the Objex was randomly there and sang and got naked for me backstage for the Hustler article. Highlights of the performance included Jesabella’s strip contortions on broken glass, Shay Lynn’s flaming sword act, Chelsea’s painful mouse trap act and Angel in a giant hamster ball. They also hit internet gold with naked girls in Darth Vader and Hello Kitty masks which is obviously very important plus they let people staple dollar bills to them which makes for entertaining everything.

Anyway, just go look at the photos and I will shut up and go back to whatever the hell I am doing today and be on the look out for a bunch of naked photos of all the babes in an upcoming Hustler Magazine!

Sorry for the delay in posting this stuff. I have been without reliable internet for the last few days which is pretty much the worst thing to happen to my life in weeks which is a testament to how awesome my life is. Finally I am back in NYC from my 10 days in Vegas and LA and I can’t wait to be back. I don’t have any trips planned until March so I am looking forward to some time at home. Anyway…

I shot a little bit of the 2014 Adult Entertainment Expo on Friday and Saturday but most of these pictures came from last Thursday when I was down at the Expo for several hours. I spent the day saying hi to friends and planning photo shoots for Friday and Saturday. I ended up shooting seven girls for Hustler Magazine’s AVN feature and once I was in LA I shot a couple other girls for this site so I got a lot of good content out of the trip! Plus I shot another feature for Hustler on the burlesque troop Suicide Sirens… but more on that later.

The Expo is a fan and trade expo that takes place at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas every year that leads up to the AVN Awards. It gets pretty claustrophobic in there but it’s really fun to photograph weird interactions between porn babes and awkward fans. It’s sort of the best part of the whole contention. Speaking of fans, I got stopped by this dude Alvin who was with my friend Ash Hollywood and he was wearing my Mishka NYC shirt with her on it. He had us both sign it. It was pretty awesome.

Once again I headed to Vegas to photograph the Adult Video News Awards aka the porn Oscars. Last year I was actually nominated for Best Photography Website but that wasn’t a category this year so I was shit out of luck. The Carrie porn parody I wrote was up for best comedy porn parody but it wasn’t marketed as a Carrie parody for some reason so I pretty much knew it had no chance. Fortunately some friends of mine picked up some big awards, Tommy Pistol won best actor for his roll in my friend Doug Sakmann’s film Evil Head. Tommy was probably the first male porn star I met and it was awesome to see him take home the award. They have been working on Evil Head for like 6 years so it was awesome to see it get recognized. The home girl Bonnie Rotten won female performer of the year which is pretty much the biggest award of the night. Bonnie is one of the raddest people in the business and I was so happy she won after less than two years in the business.

The AVN Week has become sort of special to me in that I met Kimberly Kane in Vegas during the awards years ago, then two years we started hanging out for the first time. Last year we broke up about two months before the awards but sort of got back together in Vegas. This year we went together and despite both of our hatred for Vegas it was nice to spend the whole week with her. I doubt we will ever officially get back together since we live 3000 miles away from each other and that didn’t work the first time, but I love that girl and I am glad to have any time with her I can get.

The Awards themselves have become more streamlined and a bit more organized the last two years but when the red carpets started the Joint wasn’t fully set up yet so all the porn stars had to hang out upstairs in the VIP lounges before they could get to their seats. A few people seemed annoyed but it was perfect for me to get a lot of photos and pull a few girls away to do some NSFW photos without too many security guards around. The Awards went smoothly with only a few bumps like a brawl in the front two rows. Also, Machine Gun Kelly performed twice and during his first performance Selena Rose got on stage and stole a stethoscope from a dwarf and showed everyone her pussy.  So yeah, that happened. Good times.

I am in LA right now after a crazy few days in Vegas for the AVN Awards. I have tons of pictures to get up from that but first we need to get some older business up! Last week tattoo legend Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins would have turned 103 years old. In celebration my pals at Sailor Jerry rum threw parties across the country. They asked me out to the NYC one but I couldn’t make it because I was in LA. Fortunately they were doing an event up the road in Orange County so I got to check out that party instead.

The Tattoo Gallery in Huntington Beach had four tattoo artists doing free full sized Sailor Jerry swallows for the first 103 customers in the shop. Usually at these events they do a small anchor or something like that but the Tattoo Gallery guys really stepped up. Full color palm sized birds all day. It was a ton of fun and my friend and naked lady Krissie Dee came out so I got to hang out with her a bunch which was fun. The tattoo artists were all good dudes and busted out one bird after another for nearly 10 straight hours.

Towards the end of the night HEK and Dan McNab decided to hook me up with not one but TWO swallows on the back of my knees. I picked the back of my knees because I heard it’s the most painful place to get tattooed and I am an idiot. They decided to collaborate on the tattoos and Dan did the outline and HEK colored them in. They look awesome and still hurt 5 days later. Thanks guys!

After the tattooing there was an after party at the punk rock bar Johnny’s but I didn’t hang out there very long. My knees were killing me and I had to head to Vegas in the morning so I took off, but I was there for a celebratory shot and a handful of photos that are at the end of this gallery.

On Friday night I got to see the newest film from Troma the oldest independent film studio on the planet! I have been a huge fan of Troma and it’s founder Lloyd Kaufman since I was about 14 years old. Kaufman is the creator of the Toxic Avenger and director of such classic films as Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD, Tromeo & Juliet and the Class Of Nuke Em High. When he was profiled for the Village Voice I was lucky enough to be able to photograph him for the cover and take a tour of Troma Studios. While I was there they were casting not just one but TWO brand new Nuke Em High Films: Return To Nuke ‘Em High Part 1 & 2 and finally on Friday I got to see the first part

Return To Nuke ‘Em High actually had a special NYC premiere at the MOMA on Thursday but I had a meeting and couldn’t make it. Fortunately the film opened at Cinema Village East the next night and Lloyd and the crew were going to be there. Before the screening the film was introduced by Evan Michelson and Mike Zohn owners of Obscura Antiques and stars of the creepy reality show Oddities. They had a cameo in the film and are old school Troma fans.

Return was the first time I have seen a Troma film in a proper theater (I did see a press screening of their last film Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead) and it looked fantastic. Had everything you would expect from a Troma film: sex, violence, questionable political satire, gross practical effects, fart jokes, penis monsters and the Tromatic mix of horror and violence pioneered by Kafuman 30 years ago. Asta Paredes and Catherine Corcoran were great as the lesbian couple leads (Asta has pretty much the greatest boobs I have ever seen which is saying something considering how many boobs I see) and four cast members from the film were in a big budget corporate advertisement I just did. Normal people will not like this movie, but if you are a fan of Troma or b-horror/comedies you are going to love Return to Nuke Em High. Might be Kaufman’s best film since Terror Firmer. The movie does just stop suddenly without any real wrap up but it just makes you look forward to part two which if I know anything about Troma will be out several years from now.

After the film there was a Q&A with Lloyd, Asta Paredes and Catherine Corcoran and then we all headed over to Beauty Bar for an after party. It was great to hang out with Lloyd and his amazing wife Patty. Lloyd was a few drinks in and kissed me on the cheek and told me he would get my face tattooed on him if I got him tattooed on me. Clearly I am going to have to hold him to that.

Over all it was a great night and if you are a fan of any of this stuff you should check out the pictures. I know posting them Sunday night during an NFL playoff game and the Golden Globes isn’t exactly a good recipe for getting traffic but I am leaving town tomorrow for 10 days so it’s better to get them up now. I am headed to Vegas for the AVN Awards and to LA to shoot some babes and hang out with these guys so hopefully I will have a ton of cool photos for you while I am gone. But yeah, go look at these Tromatic photos already!

The famous lower east side deli Katz’s Delicatessen is celebrating it’s 125th anniversary this year. Normally 125 year olds don’t know a lot about pop up art galleries but Katz’s is a bit different. They opened “The Space” a Katz’s pop-up art gallery next to their deli. This month my pals at the Brooklyn based streetwear brand Mishka curated an art show and released a line of Katz’s clothing to go with it. Clearly you can’t be seen this winter without rocking a Salami or Pastrami beanie.

The homies Lamour Supreme, Sucklord & Lee Trice had some awesome work on display with more delicious work by Micah NYC, Katy Ziegel, and Solomon Alexander filling out the space. The Space was packed all night and Nick Hook and Aharaw kept the music going. I assure you that corn beef (and free booze) fueled fun was had by all.

After I hit the art show I of course went next door to Katz’s with a bunch of kids and had a pastrami on rye and a matzo ball soup plus half sour pickles. It was excellent as always and tasted exactly the same is it did a decade ago when I first ate there. Which is exactly what you should expect from a 125 year old New York institution like Katz’s.

Ps. All the photos were shot without flash on my new 28mm 1.8 lens that I got for christmas. It’s the first plastic lens I have ever been excited about owning!

I have been a fan of Krysta Kaos for years ever since I saw her on Burning Angel and I have been trying to shoot her that entire time. We had a shoots scheduled in Vegas, NYC and LA, all of which got canceled for one reason or another. I had pretty much given up. Fortunately when I was on my 31 day road trip this summer I passed through San Francisco. I only had one day to shoot but I ended up shooting four girls including Krysta, but it almost didn’t happen.

Krysta was my top priority in San Francisco but I had some other shoots planned. I hit up Finch Linden first thing in the morning and we took some great photos that I will get up sooner or later, after that I had plans to shoot Dylan Ryan but she got into a car accident on the way to the shoot! Krysta was about to get off work so I headed to Oakland but when I got there she was gone. She went home to walk her dog but told me to wait there. When she came back she told me she was kinda sick and exhausted from work and didn’t have any make up and just wanted to smoke weed and relax. I told her she could just smoke weed or something and I would take pictures and she wouldn’t have to do anything. She decided to tough it out and finally shoot with me. I was psyched.

We went up to her apartment and she spent maybe three minutes doing her make up and then we went on to her roof. She smoked some weed on the back of a giant billboard and we started shooting. It was a really cool location and she is an amazing model. I loved the shots and I hope you guys do too. The whole shoot lasted maybe 10 minutes and I can’t wait until I get a chance to actually spent some time with her when she is not feeling like shit. What an easy person to shoot!

My friend and bad ass tattoo artist Friday Jones is in a new tattoo reality show on the Oxygen Network called Tattoos After Dark. I know what you are thinking, the last the thing the world needs is another tattoo reality show and why on earth is the Oxygen Network even doing tattoo shows… BUT I went to the watch party for the first two episodes and I gotta say the show is pretty hilarious. The show is about two shops in LA that stay open and attract really drunk crazy people who want really horrible tattoos. (Their ideas are horrible, the tattoos are excellent.) There are several tattoo shows about cover ups and the people getting them tell stories about how the ended up with these really bad tattoos, well Tattoos After Dark documents those mistake stories in real time!

Friday threw her party at the Dr. Who themed bar Way Station in Brooklyn. She had one of her favorite bands Geena & Dragster perform followed by comedian Mara Marek. Geena & Dragster were pretty rock and roll and Mara mostly did crowd work making fun of tattoos and couples in the audience. After that we watched the two episodes live and then Friday and fellow Tattoos After Dark star Joe “Jersey” Meinweiser did a Q&A. Jersey also showed everyone his dick tattoo but I decided not to post the picture out of respect for everyone.

I didn’t take a ton of photos because most of the party involved everyone watching TV and I was suffering from extraordinary tooth pain which ended in having to get a root canal yesterday, but it’s probably for the best since Friday got in a fight with some insane drunk girl on New Years Eve and got a black eye from the crazy bitch’s purse! Although in retrospect I should have taken more photos of Geena’s daughter who was a babe and was dressed like a sexy Beetlejuice. I probably shouldn’t be writing this post on this many pain killers.
