Zombified Fucking Bullshit Video

Back in May my punk band Fucking Bullshit played at Public Assembly after the Brooklyn version of the New York Zombie Crawl. It was probably our best show and I can’t tell you how much fun I had singing to a room full of zombies. A few months before the show a guy named Daniel Huskey hit me up about doing some video editing for me and I knew this would be a really fun show to get on video. My friend and juggalo photographer Dan Cronin was in town and I asked him to video tape some of it. My friend Chris Carr just happened to be there and taped some of it as well. On top of that Backseat Conceptions who put on the zombie crawl video taped some of it. So in all we had four cameras running for at least parts of the set. We ended up with six pretty awesome videos from the concert featuring seven songs from our set. We do all covers so if you dig punk at all you will probably know at least a couple of them. I posted our cover of Black Flag’s Nervous Breakdown over on the B-Side Blog and you can see all of them on the Fucking Bullshit Vimeo page. Below I am going to post a few of my favorites.

“Alcohol” is a Gang Green cover and our set opener. I jump into a hoard of zombies and possibly ruin a few lives. Next we have a delightful medley of 7 Seconds “Young Til I Die” and Cro-Mags “Hard Times”. Young Til I Die is a bit too straight edge for Fucking Bullshit so we changed it to “Drunk Til I Die”. In this video I choke myself with a mic cable and nearly knock myself out jumping off stage. I am just dazed enough to fuck up the lyrics. Lastly we have a cover of the Misfits upbeat ditty “Last Caress”. I was losing my voice at the point in the set, luckily Zombie Glen Danzig was there and helped me sing it. Good times.

Before we get to the videos I need to mention that we are going to be playing at Don Pedro’s in Brooklyn this Friday August 3rd at Midnight. The show is only $5 and it’s gonna be a lot of fun. Last time we played Don Pedro’s they gave me a 50 foot mic cable and let me climb on to the skee-ball machines there. You have been warned.

Veronica Ricci

The first time I shot Veronica Ricci it started out sort of disastrously. I was on a shoot in downtown LA and I drove really far away to meet Veronica and then we drove up to some hiking trail somewhere and we got ready to shoot and I realized I had left my damn camera at the last shoot. I have never done anything so dumb in my life. We drove back down town and ended up taking photos on a roof. The pictures came out pretty awesome but we had to shoot really quickly before the sun set. Veronica and I hit it off really well and we wanted to shoot again.

We had plans to take some photos in Vegas when we were both there in January but it never happened. A few days later we were both in LA and we tried again. She came by this shady hotel I was staying at and we tried to shoot there. Veronica started drinking this gross Pomegranate wine and we took about twenty photos before we both decided that it wasn’t working and we should go on an adventure. We left the hotel and decided we should shoot some pictures outside in an alley somewhere. We found what seemed to be a desolate driveway and I shot her using just the headlights from my rental car. We took a handful of pictures before the person who normally parked in that driveway showed up. We jumped in the car and drove away but for whatever reason the car chased us. I drove like a mad man and eventually escaped the chasing car. At some point we tried to find another dark place to shoot but I ended up driving the rental car off some parking lot cliff and scraped the whole bottom of the car when the back wheels were two feet higher than the front wheels. Somehow the car stayed together but we gave up shooting and drove back to the hotel.

At this point Veronica was nice and drunk on gross wine and we had sort of given up. She just got naked in the hotel room and rolled around the bed flicking me off and making weird faces like a crazy person. I put on my flash and we just took a bunch of photos. I honestly didn’t know if I was going to use the photos for anything but when a Penthouse Pet is rolling around naked acting like a lunatic you keep taking photos. Recently I was going through all these photos and realized a bunch of them were really fun and I figured if I put all the photos together in a set it would make for a nice set and an interesting story. So here it is.

Roofeeo’s Call It What You Want 2 Release Party – 7.21.12

My homie Roofeeo drummer and DJ extraordinaire came out with a new mix tape called “Call It What You Want 2” which is exactly what I want to call it.  The mix tape is hosted by another friend, the hilarious Hannibal Buress and features a lot of music you can play at your rooftop BBQ’s all summer. You should download that shit right here.

Yesterday he threw a release party for it at the King & Grove hotel in Williamsburg and a ton of rad people came out for it. I thought it was a later thing but I guess since it was on the rooftop it had to end by 1am so I ended up showing about 40 minutes before they kicked everyone out. I decided since I was gonna walk there from my apartment I didn’t want to carry all my camera gear so I just threw a 50mm lens in my bag which is not really important but it does explain why all the photos are  all so tightly cropped. Honestly I didn’t think I was going to take any photos since I was getting there so late but it was packed and I wanted to support Roofeeo so I grabbed a few shots and made a little gallery of the last 30 minutes or so of the party. Enjoy the pictures and congrats on the mix tape Roofeeo.

2012 Exxxotica Chicago

I have shot the adult convention Exxxotica NJ several times so when I found out I was going to be in town during while the Exxxotica Chicago event was going on I decided I would check out. Once I got to Chicago I found out that Exxxotica was actually in Rosemont, IL which is a suburb by the airport a $40 cab ride from where I was staying. I decided to spend Saturday at Exxxotica and walked around and said hi to a bunch of my friends, hung out a little bit at the Burning Angel booth and a really bored Andy San Dimas and then met up with my friend Melina Mason for a photo shoot in her hotel room. The convention was slow for the first couple hours I was there and I was pretty fucking tired and I wasn’t working the event for anyone so I took it easy and just had a good time talking to friends and taking photos. Usually I leave adult conventions with huge galleries full of hundreds of images but all I have for you today is about 60 images but they are full of sexy porn babes and creepy porn fans so I think you will dig the gallery. Plus I know you will love the gallery of Melina that I will post one of these days…

Despite no actual nudity in the gallery I think I can confidently give these photos a NSFW rating. So yeah, enjoy and stuff!

2012 Pitchfork Music Festival

When I was in Chicago last weekend I spent the bulk of my time photographing the Cobra Fest after parties, but since they were after parties for the Pitchfork Music Festival I figured I would check that out as well. I got my media pass and decided to give it a go on Friday but it was pouring rain so I decided not to. A little bit later it cleared up and I realized I could make it down in time to see A$AP Rocky so I did that, but then it started raining again and I got soaked, which was kinda fun.  I went over and shot Big K.R.I.T. and then the Dirty Projectors and Japandroids before it was time to head to Cobra Fest. I had to shoot Exxxotica on Saturday but I figured I would come back on Sunday and really put in work and try to cover the fest properly.

On my way back from Exxxotica I was early for Cobra Fest thanks to a ride from a friend and I decided to stop by Pitchfork for about 30 minutes. I shot one song of Hot Chip and then ran over to the stage with Danny Brown because I really wanted to shoot him. Unfortunately he didn’t end up going on stage until 8pm and I had to be at Cobra Fest at 8 so I shot one half a song and then ran over to Cobra Lounge.

Sunday I looked at the schedule and realized I didn’t really want to see any of the bands and I would rather sleep and edit photos from the weekend so I skipped Pitchfork all together. In total I photographed six bands and got a handful of crowd shots and managed to bring to you the most half assed festival coverage of all time. But I guess that’s what happens when it’s raining and I am not really getting paid (Although the Village Voice did end up buying the pictures).

The one thing Pitchfork did do was inspire me to write an article about how much festivals suck for Photographers because their media set up was impressively unimpressive and I had to fight with kids with iPhones who have no business being in a photo pit.  Sigh. The highlight of the festival might have been watching kids try to sneak into what someone described as “the easiest festival to sneak into in the country”. I saw a ton of kids sneak in and get away, but just as many get tackled by security. Good times.

Anyway, enjoy the photos from Pitchfork that I did manage to take. I like some of the rain shots and the A$AP Rocky photos are good if you are fans of A$AP Mob and not Rocky himself because he didn’t come out until song four right as they kicked all the photographers out of the pit.

Cobrafest Day 3 – 7.15.12

Cobrafest was a three day after party for the Pitchfork Music Fest at Cobra Lounge in Chicago. Sailor Jerry was a sponsor and you can see pictures from Friday here and Saturday here. Now let’s do Sunday quickly so I can get on a plane!

Day three of Cobrafest was pretty awesome but I was pretty wrecked from the weekend so I moved a little slower and took a few less photos but had fun just the same. Day three was full of great rock and roll bands but headlined by King Tuff. Natural Child, Jaill and local rockers Slushy. Nick Collela passed tattooing duties to Frank Williams (also of the Chicago Tattooing Company) and he did a ton of tattoos including an amazing duck on me and a “Chow Hound” tattoo on professional eater Tim “Gravy” Brown. Let’s get to the pictures already!

Click here for Sunday’s pictures from Cobrafest at Cobra Lounge in Chicago, IL.

Cobrafest Day 2 – 7.14.12

Cobrafest at Cobra Lounge continues! If you want to find out more about the Pitchfork Fest after party check out my last post about Cobrafest Day 1. No time for a recap we gotta get these Chicago pics up before I get on a plane back to NYC! Let’s do this!

Cobrafest day two was my favorite day and I was psyched about it as soon as I saw the bill. White Mystery were playing and they have become pretty good friends and they are an amazing rock and roll band from Detroit. Habibi was opening up the night and they are this sick rock and roll band full of hot babes that is from Brooklyn and played with my punk band Fucking Bullshit at White Mystery’s record release party back in April. I was psyched to see them both. It was no coincidence that 5 out of the 6 members of Habibi and White Mystery were of the female sex because Saturday night at Cobrafest was ladies night. As soon as I walked into the Sailor Jerry airstream it was filled with hot rock and roll babes. I got to meet the Coathangers and Heavy Cream and they all became my new best friends. Keeping with the theme they are both epic rock and roll bands filled with rad girls who I want to hang out with all the time.

Nick Colella of Chicago Tattooing Company tattooed hot girls (plus Dirty Beaches and Youth Lagoon) all day and I sat around and took pictures in between running back to the stage to listen to amazing bands. It was a pretty epic night. I was on very little sleep but I didn’t even notice until I sat down at 4am to edit pictures. Long live rock and roll.

Cobrafest Day 1 – 7.13.12

I spent the weekend in Chicago out shooting Pitchfork Music Fest, Chicago Exxxotica and primarily a Sailor Jerry sponsored three day party called Cobrafest. Cobrafest is a Pitchfork after party that takes place at Cobra Lounge. Cobra Lounge is less than a block from Pitchfork so it’s a pretty ideal place for an after party. Each night a bunch of bands played and Sailor Jerry gave out rum and tattoos to the bands. The Chicago Tattooing Company provided the ink with Nick Colella doing the tattoos on Friday and Saturday and Frank William took over on Sunday.

I am gonna try to bang out all three days before I get on a plane today so I am going to make these quick. There are a lot of photos to get to!

Friday night featured Far-Out Fangtooth, Stagnant Pools and Psychic Paramount opening for the really amazing Human Eye. Human Eye pretty much killed it and their front man, Timmy Vulgar invited me to Detroit to eat tacos. Clearly, I should not pass this opportunity up. A bunch of people got tattooed and fun was had by all. Let’s get to the pictures!

Angel Beau Returns

The first time I shot Angel Beau it was in Vegas in her hotel room. The place was really ugly and a terrible location for a shoot. I think Angel is really awesome looking and was a ton of fun to shoot with so I wanted to shoot her again in a better spot. She came to NYC a couple of months ago and somehow she found this creepy warehouse only a few blocks from my apartment for us to shoot in. There was almost no light in there but I cranked my ISO and shot the whole thing at 1.4 and we managed to get some awesome shots in pretty much the dark.

I went out of town right after we shot and I forgot how much I loved these until I looked at them again last night. I hope you dig them as much as I do. I should mention that these photos are of course NSFW but if you want to see even more naked pictures of Angel you can check her out on Gods Girls too.

Now get it together and click here to see all the naked pictures I shot of Angel Beau in this creepy Brooklyn warehouse.
