Finally I am ready to start dropping some sweet Miami pictures on you.  Honestly my Miami trip was a bit disappointing from a productivity standpoint. I only have 6 galleries total and only 4 of them art Basel related. We have one Miami Dolphins related gallery and one half naked girl gallery as well as the parties. Many of the clubs I partied in were no cameras inside and I don’t have the hook up in Miami like I do in NYC so I sort of had to just go a long for the ride. I had some adventures though and I might have to tell you a few stories while showing you the pictures.

My first night in Miami was Wednesday. It was pre Art Basel and I got into Miami probably around 11pm. I met the girl I was staying at at Liv. Mark Ronson was DJing. She told me not to bring my camera in which was ultimately a mistake because tons of people were shooting. It was so fucking hectic in there I spent a lot of time wanting to leave so I never actually thought about going back for my camera. By the time I realized I was having fun in there it was too late and that part of the night went undocumented. What was weird about Liv is that there were so many damn people I knew there. A lot of New Yorkers in town for Basel but a lot of other Miami cats that I have run into over the years.  It ended up being a lot of fun.

After I headed over to Purdy Lounge which is pretty much a dive bar. They have a pool table and couches and that shit and it was pretty empty when I got there. But evidently that place is the normal Wednesday late night hang out spot because by 4am that place was packed and people were getting crazy. I ran and grabbed my camera but by that time it was nearly 5am and last call was ontop of us. Still I managed to meet some babes and take a few pictures which you will see below.

As we gathered outside the club to find the next party I saw Simon Rex aka Dirty Nasty outside. I met him at Sundance a few years ago and we have some mutual friends so I sort of knew who he was. All these girls were throwing themselves at him which was pretty funny to watch.  He was looking for Mark Ronson who showed up to the party late and was inside.  At some point everyone decided to go back to my boy Blu Jemz hotel room and I ended up driving Jemz, Dirty Nasty and Mark Ronson and my Miami roommate Malika to a hotel after party 5:30am.  The after party is probably best not mentioned for the interests of everyone involved but I will say that it was really funny to hear people kissing Mark Ronson’s ass who just an hour ago were talking shit about his DJ set at LIV.  I got home around 8 am. What a life we lead…

Sorry I have been not updating recently. I have been in Miami as you probably gathered. It’s hard to update when you are doing crazy things, not sleeping and have rare access to poor internet. I am back and town and back to work. Photos from Miami will be up Tomorrow, Thursday and Friday.  Get excited. In the mean time some important news!

Friday we are going to be doing another party for Jessie Lee. Again, read up on what happened here if you aren’t up on it yet. We raised a ton of money at the Darling House art show for her which was awesome and we are going to raise some more for her this week. She just found out that she might not have full brain function for a full year so we really need to help her stay afloat while she gets healthy! And on top of helping Jessie out this party is going to be fucking fun.

The party is this Friday at Angels & Kings which is not exactly a spot I spend a lot of time at, but Jessie loves the place and everyone there loves her.  Bombshell Brats is hosting the party and bringing a ton of girls with them who I am sure will be getting naked all night. They are doing live performances and they are doing $10 lap dances with the girls and you can get your photos taken with them for $3. I will do my part and try to get them all naked in the bathroom. Knowing the girls they are bringing it should be fucking crazy… Girls like Azrael, Mayhem, Indigo, Annika, Missy & Sammy.

So once again it is your favorite post of the week! Terrible point and shoot pictures of a bunch of dudes wearing aqua watching sports!  The Dolfans NYC meet up last Sunday was pretty much the most fun one of the year.  It was less packed than usual thanks to the Christmas holiday and a humiliating defeat of the Bears, but having a little room to breathe was almost a nice change of pace and the bar was still very full of Dolphins fans.  The team beat the Oakland Raiders solidly and we actually could enjoy ourselves instead of chewing our nails off.  It was a good day.

I also wanted to mention a story about a Dolphins fan who saved my ass last night.  As you know I am in Miami. On the trip here I grabbed the wrong USB cord.  I figured other people would have one but it seemed like no one did.lI needed to turn in images by the morning and I didn’t know what I would do so last night in a panic I drove around to different stores including a 24 hour Wallgreens and a 24 hour CVS. Neither of them had what I needed.  When I got to the CVS I had pretty much given up. The guy told me about a Walmart almost an hour away but I had only slept 2 hours in the last 48 and I didn’t know if I could make the drive. As I was leaving CVS I saw some random Miami Dolphins related crap at the register and I bought it.  He asked me if I was a Dolphins fan and he and I had a long conversation about the Dolphins ending with me inviting him to NYC for a Jets Vs Dolphins game and more importantly it ended with him opening a scanner that they sold in the store and letting me borrow the USB cable that came with it. It was amazing and he saved my ass.  He told me he would have never done that for a Jets fan. One of the good things about sports is that you have friends everywhere you don’t even know about.

Remember the All My Friends Are In Bands series of posts where I show you guys 3 music videos from my friends bands? Well it continues today.  I am in Miami for Art Basel and a Miami Dolphins game and it is going to be pretty hard to get any actual photos to you this week so I have a few updates planned that don’t involve party photos although I may try to get some party photos up too. We shall see.  Anyway, in today’s post we are going to talk about two friends videos and then one other video that I just had to share with you…

The first video is Drop The Lime’s new rockabilly track called Hot As Hell. This shit is pretty fucking awesome.  If every DJ was dropping “baseablilly” tracks I would probably hate my job a little bit less. Just kidding, I love my job, but having epic rock and roll dance jams would be the way to go. I’m just mad I am not in the video… You guys should see me with my hair up…

The second video is a track called “I’ll Show You” by my old friend Raquel Reed.  The track is pretty awesome and it features Redman doing a verse.  She lives in a house north of the city where a bunch of artists record. She said that one day she came downstairs and heard Redman working with her producer and rapping over her track. That seems pretty surreal but evidently he loved it and helped her get the video made. It’s pretty cool.

Lastly I have for you the newest viral sensation from the Insane Clown Posse. After shooting the Gathering of the Juggalos I have become the go to guy for all the important juggalo related content and I had to find a reason to post this video. This video is ICP’s toy drive. The long story short is that if you bring a toy to an ICP concert for poor kids you get a free ICP Christmas CD.  The long story short is this fucking nearly 10 minute video featuring Sugar Slam pretty much parodying the SNL skit that is parodying her. I mean it is so bad it is brilliant. It also features the line “With the tags, fag” which is so fantastic it is unbelievable. Also I met Sugar Slam and ICP so I think this can still fall into the All My Friends category in some loose way. Enjoy!

Last night at Beauty Bar 20 erotic photographers came together led by JM Darling and Darling House to raise money to support our injured friend Jessie Lee. By now you should know all about her injury but if you are coming here from some other site linking in just to see some crazy naked party pictures, then you can click here for a recap of what happened to Jessie Lee. There were a ton of amazing photographers work on the walls and a ton of it sold.  My pictures were sort in the dark which is my excuse for only selling one print. I sold it right after I moved the lights so you could see my prints so I feel like my argument is somehow valid. I bought two photos myself a picture of my ex-girlfriend doing coke with a 400 pound black man taken by Bob Coulter and this picture taken by Lithium Picnic. Unfortunately for me someone walked off with the prints, hopefully accidentally, but I hope to get them back somehow.

The party was a ton of fun as you would expect from a party filled with nude models, burlesque dancers and way too many cameras. The night started off pretty tame and art show like but after a few burlesque numbers including some serious nudity from Stormy Leather and Madame Rosebud and a lot of booze people started getting wild.  I did a mini topless photo shoot with Burning Angel mom and party host Joanna Angel and Dastardly Dave posed for some shots with a sexy lady. There was various random nudity and making out and good times all around. I just wish Jessie Lee could have been well enough to make the trip.  I am sure when she gets better we can throw another party that she can get naked at too…

A while ago I blogged about the soft launch of Unseen NYC. I reached out to friends and fans of this site to submit street art and street life pictures to Unseen and you did not disappoint.  Well, after a few weeks of gathering content Unseen NYC officially launches today!

So let me refresh your memory…

A few years ago an old college buddy of mine, Rick Ramos, launched a website called Unseen Denver. It was basically a Denver based street art site but Rick sees street art a bit differently than a lot of people. Rick isn’t really interested in graffiti and he is not active in the street art culture but he loves the little things that people don’t notice that make Denver a more interesting place to live. He posts a photo a day that people from around Denver submit of street art and graffiti, but also things like notes and signs and snow drifts and cracks in the sidewalk and moments that make Denver home for those people.

I had seen Unseen Denver before a while ago but it wasn’t until recently that I took a good look at the site and realized how interesting it is. I asked him if he had ever thought about branching out and making Unseen sites in other cities. He told me he would love to but never had a person to really push the site in other cities.  Enter me.

I have been reaching out to you guys and my friends and fellow photographers to get them to submit images to this Unseen NYC project and it has already been pretty fantastic. The blog was just a few photos on a blank page but we still received a TON of photos and have already been blogged about on the NY Times and Sundance Channel blogs. It’s pretty clear that if Unseen Denver could have so much success that the New York version is going to me 10x more amazing. We have way more people, way more art and way more streets and cracks for art to hide in. Unseen NYC has no choice but to be huge!

So last week Rick redid the layout so Unseen looks like a real website now. We added a few posts about street art happenings in the city and we stared adding a bunch more content and as of today Unseen NYC is officially ready to roll!

So this is it. This is your re-invitation to check out the site. We really want you to submit photos! You can also follow Unseen NYC on Twitter or join us on Facebook or you could even become a blogger for the site!  We really want to find more people interested in writing about this stuff so hit me up if you are interested in joining the team!

On Monday photographer JM Darling has put together a pretty impressive collection of erotic photographers who are going to be selling their photos to raise money for Jessie Lee. On top of being able to get relatively inexpensive photos from amazing photographers like Bob Coulter, George Pitts, Holly Randall, Dave Naz and Lithium Picnic you will also get to see Madam Rosebud and Stormy Leather get naked in fantastical burlesque performances.  You can also get photos by friends of Driven By Boredom like Ellen Stagg, Steve Prue and Chase Lisbon… PLUS… photos by the legendary Nate “Igor” Smith from DrivenByBoredom.com.  Yes that’s right on top of the huge list of legendary photographers who have come together to raise money for Jessie Lee, you can get photos taken by yours truly. You clearly cannot miss this event.

We will be at Beauty Bar Monday night from 8-11 PM and the event will be hosted by the amazing Joanna Angel who unfortunately was driving the car during Jessie’s terrible accident.  The cost of this event is only $5 and both the cover and part of the bar go to raise money for Jessie Lee.

This is a huge group of amazing photographers that I am honored to be a part of and we have all come together to help support a girl who has been a muse and a friend and I hope you guys can come out and help as well. It should be a very fun night.

I ate so much food today after being horribly sick for the last few days. I had food poisoning and didn’t really eat anything for 24 hours. Today I stuffed myself completely and sat down on the couch to watch three straight football games with my family.  My dad’s Cowboys lost and now I am busy rooting against the Jets. It’s good that I can still enjoy football despite the fact that the Miami Dolphins are fucking ruined. The team is so hurt and they lost to the damn Bears last Thursday. They are now 5 and 5 and have pretty much no shot at the playoffs.  That being said last Thursday wasn’t all horrible.

Dolfans NYC threw a big party for the Thursday night game and we had a HUGE crowd out.  We were doing it as a fundraiser for the Miami Dolphins Foundation and we raised over $500 for the charity. It was a lot of fun… at least until the game started and we found out the Dolphins offense was so badly wounded that they couldn’t score a single point.  It was disastrous… but the week got better…

My Dolfans NYC partner Michelle used our weekend off to take a coworkers offer to sneak us into a taping of CBS NFL halftime show where we got a chance to meet Dan Marino.  Dan Marino is pretty much my fucking hero.  When I was 8 I made a Dan Marino puppet for a school project. When I was 20 I went to Miami to see the Dolphins retire his number. When I was 27 I got his number tattooed to my arm.  I shoot a lot of celebrities doing this website and other than Bill Murray I never get very excited about it. But meeting Dan Marino was pretty intense.  I got to talk to him for a second, shake his hand and take some photos with him.  I even asked for an autograph. You guys would have thought it was really cute.

The NY Daily News wrote up this Harry Potter street art stunt at the Union Square Subway stop. My DBB sticker just happened to be in the shot. Both The Village Voice and Gothamist wrote it up as well so here are some serious viral points for my sticker.

And lastly I shot a bunch of photos for Ryan Keely’s Porn Star Sex Life workshop a while ago. Evidently they ended up in Penthouse Magazine which is always pretty funny.
