High Voltage, one of my favorite parties ever, is back!  It returns to the Annex, free of charge as always, this Saturday night.  The first night was actually last weekend, but I was out of town.  This week I am hosting and it should be a blast.  I will probably have some booze for you and we can throw down like its 2007.  I am pretty excited about it.  Added to your normal Dimitri & Prince Terrence line up is my boy Roc One who will be the new resident DJ.  Also special guest this Saturday only is Huggs.  Glitter Kids are co-hosting with me and it  should be a lot of fun.  Open Svedka bar at 11pm. This is Vicky.  She goes to school in NYC but lives in the DC area during the summer.  When I was in DC earlier this week a mutual friend suggested I try to shoot with her.  I hit her up and she came over to my parents house and we shot some pictures on the side porch of the house I lived in for all of the 1990’s.  I can’t remember the last time I was even out on that porch, much less had a naked girl out there.  We had to make the shoot kinda quick because I didn’t want the neighbors to see us, but I think we got a few nice shots anyway.

Vicki is rad as hell and we ended up hanging out until she had to go to work at like seven AM.  We drove around my neighborhood and I showed her most of the spots on my Polaroid Map. And we went to 711 and I had to buy her tampons because she was about 10 second away from shoplifting them and frankly I did not need to get arrested again.  It was all and all pretty fun.  Plus I have a pretty big thing for slightly fucked up teeth, so it was a lot of fun to shoot someone with braces because I rarely get that chance. Her teeth seem pretty on point though, not sure why she needs them.  She wants me to shoot her again when they come off in a few months, but I dig em…

So I had plans to be in Philly last night.  I called a bunch of people and everyone wanted to hang out tonight instead of last night.  I sort of made plans with my ex, but as I got closer to Philly she canceled them.  So I just kept going… I ended up getting into NYC right about 2 am and I had a lot of caffeine in me for the drive so I just drove straight to Beauty Bar.  All summer Smith’s bassist Andy Rourke and Olé Kortskey DJ their Jetlag party Wednesday nights at Beauty Bar.  I have been meaning to go since I love those dudes but I hadn’t made it out till last night.  Beauty Bar was far from packed when I got there but there were a bunch of people that I think are awesome.  Mishka was sponsoring the party so Greg Mishka was there.  Ellen Stagg was there who is super hot, a sick photographer and runs her own porn site.  You can’t get much more my type than that… With her was a bunch of cute drunk girls including Playboy model Jelena Jensen who pulled out her epic boobs for the excitement of pretty much everyone there.  There were mad camera phones out when she posed for my pictures.

Aside from taking pictures I also shot some stuff for the DBB Webisodes that I am working on.  I missed out on getting some interviews that I wanted cause everyone was so drunk, but Beauty Bar owner Mike Stewart told me a pretty good story about hanging out with John Waters and having little gang kids throw rocks at them.  I also got Andy Rourke to tell me the story about how Little Richard tried to get Andy to buy drugs from Little Ricardo, the son of Little Richard.  I have seen some crazy things happen in that bathroom, but never had a rock icon tell me about a rock legend trying to pimp out his drug dealing son in there.  I guess we can cross that off the list of things to do in Beauty Bar.

Somewhat Hasty first solo video from my boy Teddy Blanks. It was directed by friend and former Party Rock 3 member Christian Schultz. While consistently maintaining a retro synth pop feel in all his music this has to be the most 80’s thing he has done yet. My first thought was he was a pair of leg warmers away from Flashdance but a friend of mine compared it to a Billy Squier video. I think he has a point.

Also Teddy has just redone his website with a lot more music up as well as an archive of flyers and a header that quotes a different line from a song every time you refresh the page. You guys probably know by now that I am a huge geek for the Miami Dolphins. While I was at the beach the Phins released a version of their theme song recorded by T-Pain. I am part of a Miami Dolphins NYC fan club and I wanted to get it out to our peoples there was no video on YouTube. When I was looking for footage for this nightlife video project I am working on I found some random footage of some friends of mine dancing at a Dolphins game I went to in Miami last year. So when I heard the song and saw it didn’t have a video I just threw up the footage with the song, posted it on YouTube and called it a day. I didn’t think anything of it until people started sending me links. First it was just the local media links… then Sports Illustrated and then my intern sent me the link after seeing it on TMZ. This is completely weird. I guess I should have realized that this might be seen outside of Dolphins fans since it involved T-Pain, but this is a bit crazy.

I’ll keep you updated if there are any other weird links… I just hope people be kind to my dancing friends…

Jah Jah from Ninjasonik has been throwing the Poppin’ Bottles, Gettin’ Pregnant party Wednesdays at Happy Endings for a long ass time and I have been meaning to go for ages.  I finally made it out for the release of the Mishka Darth Baño Mix Tape.  If you want to know about the record just click here, I already did that blog.  Anyway, it was a ton of fun and a crazy party.  Ninjasonik played for an hour around 230 AM and everyone went fucking crazy.  The bouncers didn’t know what to do.  It all ended pretty peacefully, although the bouncers made sure everyone kept their shirts off.

Now I feel I have to mention something that I think is pretty fucked up.  I am at Happy Endings almost every Tuesday and tons of people hang out front and make a lot of noise and no one says anything.  But last night, with a mostly black crowd, the cops came by three times just watchin people.  And the bouncers wouldn’t let anyone stand out front cause the cops told them to keep everyone off the block.  It seems like some total racist bullshit to me.

Anyway, again, the party was a blast, Ninjasonik killed it, and I took a bunch of photos of cute black girls which is something I don’t do nearly enough.  Check out all the pics from the party by clicking here, and some of the best shots should be up on the Village Voice soon.

Hey guys, I know how you guys hate spending money and all, but Teddy Blanks is playing again tonight and it should be a blast.  I would really like to see you guys out there.  I am leaving for a week or so tonight and I will miss you all. Come say goodbye.

Speaking of, this site is going to be slow moving for the time that I am out of town. I am going fishing with 3 of my oldest and dearest friends for 4 days then off to DC/VA for a day or two and then I might hit up Philly for a night or something.  It is sort of up in the air but I borrowed a car, and I need some relaxation and/or adventure. I will try to update once a day at least, but I can’t promise anything.  I have some photo shoots tentatively set up with some cute girls, so if that happens, there might be some fun stuff up next week.

Two of my favorite organizations have teamed up. Ninjasonik is one of the only remaining bands that I actually enjoy going to see and I pretty much wear at least one article of Mishka clothing at all times (they keep giving me free clothes when mine get dirty). Mishka’s new mixtape is by Darth Baño another alias of Ninjasonik’s TelliGramz AKA Bathroomsexxx. The Mix Tape features 17 tracks produced by a variety of people including Major Lazer, Curses and Ninjasonik’s DJ Teenwolf. The Mix also features a ton of guest performers like Spank Rock, Blaqstarr, Maggie Horn, Theophilus London, Hollywood Holt, The Death Set and Johnny “Body Bag” Nelson. The album is pretty damn fun and I think the release party tonight might be even more fun. I will be at Happy Endings tonight taking photos of the “Poppin’ Bottles, Gettin’ Pregnant” party for the Village Voice so come by and say “hi”. I think it will be out of control.

Some of my favorite events to shoot are the parties I cover for Inked Magazine.  The NY Adorned annual block party was no exception.  I am not one to exist in the day light, and of course I had not slept at all, but I managed to make it to the block party a mere 4 hours after it started.  I had visited the Brooklyn location of Adorned once before when Mikey from Just Friends worked there, but this time the streets in front of the store were filled with tattooed people of sorts and their dogs and babies.  Pretty much everyone there had a lot of tattoos and either a dog of a small child.  I felt a little insecure without a smaller mammal that counts on me for food and shelter and my all my tattoos being covered didn’t help matters.  Fortunately, whenever I feel inadequate I just pull out my long hard black zoom lens and get to work.  I always think my day light work is going to be terrible, but these photos didn’t come out that bad.  You can check all the photos by clicking here, and you should, because I am only going to photos of cute adorable puppies below and you don’t want to miss the shots of sexy tattooed ladies and the musical stylings of the Dixons.
