And the tattoos keep on coming…

Yesterday my homie Jess Versus tattooed two more people with Driven By Boredom logos.  There are now a dozen (or 13 if you count my tattoo) people with the Driven By Boredom logo.   The newest additions are my friends Chase and Johnny Nelson. I have known Chase forever and he has been harassing me about getting the tattoo so I made an appointment with Jess. Johnny hit me up the other day and showed up despite being sick.  Johnny may or may not be the greatest rap icon of our generation so hopefully my tattoo will show up on the cover of the Source or Rolling Stone sooner or later.

Anyway, thanks a bunch to these guys for putting my logo on their flesh for the rest of their lives and thanks a bunch to Jess for doing the tattoos. Yesterday I threw another Miami Dolphins party at Third & Long like I do for every Dolphins game. If only I could throw a weekly dance party that is as successful as the DolfansNYC events because we get this shit popping. Seriously. The game this week is on Thursday against the Bears and I know a TON of people from Chicago and they all love the Bears so I have a feeling my photos from our Thursday night game will feature some NYC nighlife cats.

This week we won the game and we scored a lot so we were singing the fight song up a storm. It was pretty amazing. That being said, the Dolphins had their starting and back up quarterbacks injured… possibly out for the year… and we also had injuries to our best offensive and defensive players. So the win was a bit bitter. Still there were shots all around and at least we won the game. If we lost it I would still be in my room crying right now.

Anyway, I know most of you you don’t care about this stuff, but here are my point and shoot photo from the Dolfans NYC meet up and I hope that if any Dolphins fans are out there that you will join us on Thursday night at Third and Long for the Bears game. Go Dolphins!

I shot This Is Music for Moodswing360 again. This Is Music is their Thursday night party at Tenjune.  The Chainsmokers were DJing again this time with Jason Smith.  L2 performed as well but I had to leave before I got a chance to see them. Honestly I wasn’t there very long for reasons not worth talking about but I did have a lot of fun while I was there. I had fun last week too, but the crowd really seemed to be letting loose on Thursday. Jason Smith was killing it and I saw a couple pretty much fucking on the dance floor until one of the bouncers caught them and put a stop to the nudity. They seemed pretty drunk so I decided not to photograph that madness. It was just a good time and there were a bunch of army dudes there celebrating Veteran’s Day. Clearly bottle service and dance music is the best way to support the troops.

So I got a Ronald Reagan dressed as a pimp tattoo. You might ask why the Hell would I do something like that.  I might tell you it is an indictment of the irresponsible fiscal policies and the theory of trickle down economics. It is satirizing of tax breaks for the wealthy and Reaganomics.  Or I might just tell you that I got it because I think it’s hilarious. Cause it is.

Really I just wanted something by Mitch O’Connell who is a favorite artist of mine and when going through his book of tattoo ideas I realized my favorite images were his series of presidents dressed as pimps.  The Reagan stood out to me because when I was a kid I loved Reagan before I understood politics can because it just happened to fit in the spot where I wanted to put a tattoo.

I was born in 1980 a few months before Reagan was elected president. He was with me for all my formative years and as a child obsessed with both Family Ties and jelly beans he seemed flawless. If Alex P. Keaton loved Reagan, you can be damn sure I did. If you are younger than 25 and have no idea who Alex P. Keaton is you need to watch this right away.

Moving on, I photographed this amazing pool party that was held for my friend and tattoo artist Betty Rose. She asked me to shoot it and as payment she offered up this sweet Reagan tattoo.  She did my Aloha Monkey and she killed it once again with my man Ronnie here. She had to make his head and hands a bit bigger than they were in the original drawing for detail, but I think it looks pretty sweet anyway.  So go get tattooed by her already and if anyone else wants to trade photos for tattoos… let a brother know.

Lastly, speaking of tattoos, on Tuesday more people are going to be getting the Driven By Boredom logo tattooed to them.  I have two people confirmed but we could always use more.  My friend Jess is going to hook everyone up proper. Ronnie Reagan he’s our man! If he can’t do it nobody can!

As I have mentioned my friend and Burning Angel model Jessie Lee was injured in a car accident last Friday. She broke her neck but from what I understand she is going to be fine and not paralyzed or anything but clearly she has a long road to recovery. Joanna Angel was driving the car but fortunately she and the other passenger were fine. Also fortunately is that Joanna has insurance and presumably that insurance will cover Jessie’s medical bills.  But what it will not cover is all of the time that Jessie Lee is going to be out of work while she recovers from her injuries. I cannot imagine it is easy to be a dancer when you have a fused spine and a neck brace.  So to help her out a lot of us are doing what we can to raise money for her.

I have known Jessie for about three years and he and I have become pretty good friends over that time. She is a hateful shit talking bitch and I am a fucking asshole creep and despite this, or probably because of it we get along very well.  Seriously, I love that girl and we need to help her get back on her feet. She’s a rad girl and has been naked on this site more times than I can count so you guys must love her too. I mean seriously, how could you not?

So I am donating prints to an auction and to a group show in order to raise money for her, but I will let you know about that stuff when we get to it. So there is this movie Tiny Furniture. I have talked about it before and I will talk about it again but what you really need to know is that it comes out Friday at IFC Center and that it is very good.  It won best feature at SXSW and Lena has been tapped to direct an HBO series produced by Judd Apatow and she is going to adapt and direct movie version of the next book by the people who wrote Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist. It is being produced by Scott Rudin. If you don’t know who he is… Google him.  It is all fucking very impressive. And we are all very proud of Lena. On top of Lena’s awesomeness, the music for the film was done by my good friend Teddy Blanks who I have plugged on here a billion times.  Anyway, you must see this movie. (It opens in LA next Friday, btw.)

Last night they held the New York premiere at Moma and I didn’t go because I have already seen the movie twice and I had seriously important things to do like update this stupid website.  But I did go to the after party but of course I got there late and Lena and Teddy had already left and so had my brother so I hung out, took a few photos, chatted with friends of exes and exes of friends and then left and stuffed my face with a giant cookie, a cannoli and a McRib. It seemed like the thing to do.

I am going to get Ronald Reagan tattooed to my leg in a few minutes so I gotta make this update quickly.  You guys know the deal anyway right? I have photographed a million Strip for Pain’s and they are all fucked up and crazy and they are all sort of the same.

As a quick refresher insane person and dear friend Doug Sakmann gets on stage and brings up several Burning Angels and several really stupid dudes. He then hurts them severely and if they can survive the pain then the Burning Angel’s get naked. Unfortunately (and sort of ironically) because this time they did it at a porn convention no one could actually get naked. They could however really hurt the guys.

They whipped them with cords, they tortured their nipples and they suffocated them. When that didn’t work they kicked them in the nuts and eventually electrocuted the winner with a dog collar. It was all very brutal and there are a bunch of nice shots from it.

Joanna Angel was supposed to host the whole thing but because of the car accident she couldn’t do it. Speaking of the car accident, I will have a special update tomorrow with never before seen shots of Jessie Lee in a bid to raise even more awareness about her injury. Exxxotica was Friday, Saturday and Sunday but I went to Baltimore to see the Dolphins play on Sunday so my last day at the convention was Saturday. Clearly I had to rage Saturday night so went to  the after party at the Sheraton Hotel for a little bit. I hung out in the VIP area with Steve Prue and we took some pictures of porn stars and the like. Got to talk to my old pal Stoya for a minute and took pictures of Nina Hartley slow dancing with Adrenalynn. I didn’t take any photos with flash at the convention but evidently my batteries mostly died just sitting in my flash so I went back up to my hotel room to grab my flash pack. When I got up there my roommate Andy San Dimas was hanging out with Jimi From Alumni 2012 and a few people and by the time we stopped hanging out it was 5 am and I had missed the rest of the party.

So this gallery ends up being a bit small, but there are a few shots of Andy and Draven chilling up in the room. And I gotta thank Brian Gross for making sure I got in the party and getting me into the little VIP side of the room.

This weekend I was out of town at Exxxotica NJ a porn convention held in Edison, New Jersey (and sponsored by DBB friends Hotmovies.com). Porn conventions are always a strange thing to shoot. I look for weird fans, half naked girls and semi-famous people. There is always a good mix of that so it’s pretty easy to get good shots.  On the other hand after doing a few of these it gets a little boring, but one thing I like about shooting porn conventions is seeing my porn friends who I only get to see a few times a year. There really are a lot of people I only see at conventions and as weird of a community as porn is, there are a ton of awesome people I am excited to see and hang out with.

This years convention got off to a really shitty start however. When I got there I found out that Burning Angel model and good friend of mine Jessie Lee got badly hurt in a car accident.  My other friend Joanna Angel was driving but both her and (BA employee) Jojo were fine. Jessie Lee wasn’t wearing a seat belt. Jessie broke her neck and has been in the hospital since friday. She is in stable condition and as far as I know she will ultimately be fine, but she has more surgery ahead of her and a lot of rehab. Joanna was legally at fault in the accident and she has insurance so from what I understand her medical bills will be covered, but Jessie was in the middle of moving to LA and is not going to be able to work for a while so she needs help monetarily. Joanna and Burning Angel set up a page where you can donate to Jessie and also find out the latest information on her condition. Because of all this shitty news I didn’t take very many pictures on the first day of the convention. I was exhausted on day two of the convention so I didn’t really do a whole lot then either, but still there are a lot of really epic photos and I shot the entire show without using my flash once.  I have two more galleries coming today and tomorrow from Exxxotica including shots from the after party on Saturday and shots from the legendary Strip For Pain.

I wanted to give a big shout out to Andy San Dimas who let me crash with her the whole time I was in NJ.  I was expecting to sleep on a floor or have to drive back to NYC but instead I got to stay for free in a nice comfy bed with for my money one of the hottest porn stars in the world. She even bought me room service. What a fucking rad girl.
