Guest Blogging Late Night Feelings

I mentioned it in my last post but I feel my guest blog spot deserves a bigger mention.  Starting last week and continuing until mid next week I am blogging for Late Night Feelings aka FLNGS. FLNGS is an erotic photography group blog that features a ton of photographers who I love and admire. They also have had some absolutely amazing guest bloggers in the past including a number or friends of mine and I am pretty happy that I am getting the chance to blog for them.

I decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to show some of my never before seen 35mm work.  Over the last two and a half years I have been carrying a point and shoot Yashica T4 everywhere I go with me. I am sure if you have seen me out you have noticed it on my hip. It might not be the greatest fashion accessory but I have shot several hundred rolls of film that I haven’t published. This work is very different from my party work. It is a lot more personal and stylistically very different. I am sure you can see me in the work, but I think you guys might be suprised by it if you haven’t seen any of my more fine art oriented work.

Now obviously the work on FLNGS is very Not Safe For Work so I can’t post much on the front page, but below I am going to post a few examples of some of the more tame stuff I will be showing over there. So check out the few shots below then click here to check out my guest blogs over on FLNGS.  You can also read my bio over there if you want a laugh.

I hope you dig the work. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Important Things With Igor

Hey! Please read this whole thing. It would mean oh-so-much to me!

As you may have noticed I have not been shooting much recently. Dealing with the juggalos took a lot out of me. I have been staying in a lot and pretty much hanging out by myself. That time has passed it is time to get serious again and get back to work. I have spent the last 12 hours not sleeping but trying to get my life together and I have marked a ton of shit off my to do list but I have a long way to go. But in the mean time, for you guys, I have some house cleaning shit to talk to you guys about.

The first is that we can finally put the juggalos to bed. I will be posting again when the Village Voice article finally comes out but other than that this is a juggalo free zone for the foreseeable future. But, before we do that, I spent several hours last night organizing all the 21 posts from the Gathering of the Juggalos into a lovely easy to handle page that you can share with your friend and loved ones. I also added some additional coverage and links as well. I have been getting so much traffic from this stuff that it would be nice to have a landing page. I actually updated all 21 Insane Clown Posts with a link to this page.  So if you ever want to show any of your friends my Gathering of the Juggalos photos (Please Do) than you can now easily send them to this page:

Click here to see all of my photos and coverage from the 2010 Gathering of the Juggalos in Cave In Rock, IL.

Okay, next on the agenda is the Driven By Boredom Facebook page. I have let it sit around collecting dust.  No longer.  From now on I will be adding photos and fun stuff to it and attempting to interact with people. I am going to preview upcoming galleries on there and I am going to post other photos hopefully. I even made it so you can tag all the photos so you can tag your friends in them and that sort of thing. I know I said no more Juggalos, but the very first thing I did was upload 100 funny juggalo images with the idea that people can tag their friends in them in a scheme to embarrass and mock them. Get excited.

So click here to “Like” the DBB Facebook page and click here to tag your friends in these epic juggalo photos.

Now running this Facebook page is going to take time and I don’t have any. I also have a few other web projects I am working on that I could use help with.  I have no money to pay anyone so I am looking for an intern again.  I am burying this way down in this update because the last few times I have made a big deal about finding an intern it has been disastrous. So, if you have any interest in interning for me, drop me an email. If you can’t figure out my email, you probably shouldn’t bother applying. I don’t need photo majors… I need a web intern mostly, although there will be some fun stuff too. You have to live in NYC and you have to be responsible.  I know it is late to be posting this, but if you can get school credit for it, that would be very much preferred.

And down here we have a few little classified ads:

I am looking for New Yorkers who own digital cameras who are interested in documenting NYC street art and graffiti. A friend of mine started an amazing site in Colorado called Unseen Denver and he and I are trying to make a NYC version but we need help! Hit me up if you think you might want to help.

I am shooting Gold Whistle tomorrow at Gallery Bar. It is upstairs from Rando so it should be awesome. It also has the best fucking flyer I have ever seen.

My Tumblr has been absolutely killing it recently. If you aren’t checking it out you aren’t getting the full DBB experience. A lot of the stuff I used to post as little fun bullshit updates is now over there. And as if I have to remind you, you should be following me on Twitter by now.

Lastly, I am going to do a full post about this tomorrow or the next day but I am guest blogging on a site called Late Night Feelings. I am pretty excited about it. It is an artistic but erotic photo blog run by a lot of photographers I love and respect. I am posting almost nothing but never before seen 35mm shots of naked girls. I think you need it in your life. NSFW.

Now, since you have been so awesome in reading this whole post that I am going to give you this lovely video that really doesn’t have anything at all to do with Juggalos… I swear… Nothing at all…

Miley Cyrus Naked

Just kidding. If you clicked over from Twitter or Tumblr or your RSS feeder you have been fooled! I have no Hannah Montana child porn for you no matter how much you want it. Seriously, that is gross. Why did you click that link? What the Hell is wrong with you?

All jokes aside I have nothing fun for you today. Just a little house keeping and some links.  I just thought Miley Cyrus Naked would be a better title than “Bullshit you don’t care about, and other links”.

Mostly I just wanted to tell you guys that I am going on Vacation. I will be gone Saturday to Tuesday and then as soon as I get back on Wednesday I leave for another few days to cover THE GATHERING OF THE FUCKING JUGGALOS for the Village Voice. That is really happening. I will be sleeping in an RV for 4 days in the middle of nowhere so I have my doubts that things will get updated at all. I don’t even know if I will have electricity. That is for serious.

So things will be a bit slow next week and clearly they are slow right now. I have an update for you tomorrow, and I hope I will shoot some parties either tonight or tomorrow so I have some shots ready to go for the weekend, but like I said, it might be slow around here for a little while.

So to kill time while you are impatiently refreshing my page over and over again to see if I have updated you could check out some new stuff I have online.

Here are some of the Dos & Don’ts I have shot for Vice Magazine recently: Don’t, Do, Don’t, Do, Don’t, Do, & Don’t

Here are some of my naked photos that have showed up on Gawker’s adult blog, Fleshbot, recently (NSFW): Andy, Dana, Shay & Tayte.

Here are some new Village Voice galleries: Naked Art Party, Gallery Bar, Greenhouse, & Trash.

Complex.com wrote and article on Ellen Stagg and I took the the picture of her for it.

I have some stuff in Inked Magazine this month (and most months).

And lastly, here is a picture of the Mario Kart parked outside of my apartment every day. Oh, and sorry again about the Miley Cyrus thing…

Social Networking Bullshit

Easily the worst part about running a website for a living is having to figure out new widgets and aps and plugins and all this other bullshit that makes more people come to your page.  You see, I want people to come to this page. It makes me happy, and soon it will make me money, but getting people here is always annoying. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of people come here without me having to do anything but post quality content, but several hundred people a day come in from Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook, so I have to be on top of all that shit.  I try to make my Twitter as funny and interesting as can be, I try to post interesting content to my Tumblr and I used to have it set up on Facebook so that all my blog updates would show up there, but now that doesn’t work anymore.  I am trying to get that fixed but in the mean time I need to make sure I am on top of other bullshit.

Number one on that list of new bullshit, is the Facebook like buttons.  I don’t know why people have so much need to like things and give thumbs up to things or whatever the kids are doing these days, but putting the Like buttons on your page seems to more than double Facebook traffic, so guess what? I have a fucking like button at the bottom of each post and you guys need to be fucking pressing it.  Now and often. Maybe not this post so much, but older posts you like, and new posts you will like in the future.  That would help me out, and show all your Facebook buddies how rad you are.

Also if you use Stumbl or Digg or any of that crap, I updated that plug in so all those buttons at the bottom of each post are once again working properly.  You should Digg my Sumbls asap. Or Rededit, or whatever.  I don’t know…

Lastly when I was looking for plug ins, I came across a bunch of weird, ugly and ineffective bullshit. One that seems to be just weird and ugly is the Meebo tool bar.  It is at the bottom of my page now (unless you use one of the several browsers it doesn’t work on). With this bar you can use all sorts of instant messaging programs directly from my website. It’s pretty cool because now you can use AIM from here instead of having to be logged in or whatever.  I don’t know.  The real reason I like it is because you can now drag and drop photos into social networking sites really easily.  And you can still copy pictures but you have to right click to save as now instead of dragging and dropping, at least from the main page.

Now, given all that, the Meebo plug in is really fucking ugly, and could possibly be really annoying.  So please give me some feedback about that. If the thing is driving you nuts let me know, but if you are digging it, let me know that too.  I need to make some decisions on it soon.

And lastly, and I am sure I will mention this again in a future post, I started a Facebook fan page. Pretty soon all of you who follow me on Facebook will get one of those annoying “Igor is a fan of Igor and wants you to be a fan of Igor too” emails that I get 400 times a day and make me want to stab people.  I have a Facebook group, but my web guy tells me that is not good enough now, and that Fan Pages are the new thing and I need that. So sure, whatever. Let’s see what that does before I even spend another 15 seconds even thinking about it. I have already spent my entire afternoon dealing with this madness. Just look at it and tell me what you think.

Now, to apologize to you for reading this necessary but boring fucking post, here is the new Purple Crush video. I love these kids and the video is pretty funny and I am sure if I could even hear music anymore I am sure I would like the sound of it. Too bad my brain has turned off any ability to enjoy sounds.

PS. I perhaps might be slightly stressed out that I am turning 30 in two weeks. Sorry.

Vice Bottle Report Part 4

This is the last week of the series on homeless recycling that my friend Brendan and I did for Vice.  I think it’s probably the best of the four sections. I don’t really have a lot to say about it, but you should just read the article.

In other news, I am in Miami with a place to stay at least for tonight.  I think I might be good this weekend too, but tomorrow could be intresting. Still, I am being productive while aslo taking it easy. I shot a party last night at White Room that was fun and I have a sexy type photoshoot planed for today.  I am also working two parties for Roxy this weekend.  Other than that I am trying to take it a bit easy and try to recover from SXSW. That being said, if anyone wants to get naked for me, or hire me to shoot a party this week, let me know.  I will also be in Orlando on Monday, Tues and Wed of next week, so same thing goes.

Get at me.

Welcome To Miami

So I finally made it down to Miami for this Winter Music thing.  Austin was so exhausting after two weeks sleeping three hours a night on a couch that as soon as I got to the Airport in Miami I booked a cheap hotel room by the airport and went to sleep. That’s where I am right now.

Unfortunately after tonight I don’t have any place to stay.  My housing fell through and I am stuck with no place to go. If anyone has a place for me to crash near South Beach it would be amazing. I just can’t be walking around with all the stuff I packed for a three week trip, including 2 cameras and my computer. Please contact me if you have anything that can help. I have to be here through Sunday.

As far as actual updates go I still haven’t gotten any SXSW pictures up, but there is a gallery from the Mog.com party up on Mog and I have a best of SXSW music gallery up on the Village Voice and some pics from the Mashable interactive party on the LA Weekly. Oh, and some more LA Weekly tattoo shots here.

Anyway, that’s all the updating I have for now.  Things might be weird this week, just keep checking my Twitter and my Tumblr. See you soon I hope.

SXSW Pics On Mog.com

I know I am not really updating this page like I should be, but I have been shooting 15 hours a day and coming back to edit so I can send them off to my client, Mog.com.  You can check out their SXSW mini site to see a lot of my music shots.  I will have them up on my page when I get back of course, but for now, you have a lot to look at there.  The highlight for me might be the Hussle Club shots but there are a lot of good things there.  Just a few more days and I will have Sunday and Monday mostly free to relax and try to get some pictures online.

And remember, I keep updating my Tumblr and Twitter so check those things out while you wait for me to get to real work on this site.

Anyway I just took a break to charge my phone but I gotta get back out there.  See you guys soon… I hope.

The Bottle Report: Part II

The Bottle Report series I photographed and co-wrote for Vice released the second episode today.  This episode includes action, adventure, and xenophobia! Amazingly I spelled xenophobia right the first time without using spell check. Things are looking up today.

Also, let me use this blog to remind you of some stuff.  I am going out of town for nearly three weeks starting on Friday.  I will be at SXSW shooting the Film. Interactive and Music festivals for the first 10 days and then I am headed to Winter Music in Miami to cover that. It should be an insane 3 weeks of sleeping on couches and photographing thousands of pictures a day.  Updating will be probably sparce while I am gone but if I have reliable internet hopefully I will be able to get galleries up.

Also I wanted to remind you about my Web Store.  A bunch of stuff has sold already, I hope you wanna buy something too.  Especially one of my prints. They are super cheap at $50 and its the first print I have ever released like this so it is sure to be a collectors item when I become famous for dating a celebrity.

Anyway, I have pics from Sway to go up hopefully today, and I am shooting a rock and roll party at St Jaromes tonight.  It should be fun. Come say hello.  Talk to you guys soon.

Buy Art; Buy Merch: The DBB Store Opens Today!

For the nine year anniversary of DBB I was going to launch my web store and my new Picture Of The Month project but I didn’t have my shit together in time.  I was just going to wait until April since I am gone for most of this month, but I decided to do the free Anniversary Party at Webster Hall tonight, I figure I could launch the projects today.

First: The Web Store.

You can now buy Driven By Boredom stuff!  I have T-Shirts, Tote Bags, Stickers and Buttons.  You get a button and a sticker with any other order, but you can buy a pack of buttons four for $5 or five stickers for $2.  We have T-shirts for $15 and totes for $10.

Also in the store we have the two things that Driven By Boredom Productions has released.  The Gaskets live concert film Lose Change Live DVD for only $5 and the DC rock band Greenland’s first album Call Message for $10.

And finally we come to part two of this post: Print Of The Month!

Each month, for at minimum the next 6 months I am going to be releasing a limited run of one photo.  These photos will be 11″x14″ 35mm signed and numbed prints out of an edition of 25.  I wanted to keep them super affordable so my friends and fans could buy them without breaking the bank so they are only $50. Considering I have sold prints for $250 before that is a pretty good deal I think.  At the end of each month any unsold prints will have their price raised to $100 to encourage people to buy them early and to instantly raise their value.  The prints will also be available in a 16″x20″ version for $150 rising to $250 at the end of the month.

On top of this, I am offering people a special deal on a six month subscription.  You can buy all 6 prints at $50 each for a grand total of $300, but when buying them you also get a 7th bonus print free. You also get the same number in all 7 prints so if you are the 9th person to order a subscription all your prints will be 9/25 giving subscribers a lower edition number.  There are only 10 subscriptions available and the 7th print is out of an edition of only 10. I have already sold five subscriptions. So if you are interested in that you should act quickly. If you want a subscription and you live in NYC contact me before ordering and we can meet up so you can save on shipping.  Each print is a secret until it is announced but at least the first 6 are all NYC based street photography.  If you are seriously considering buying a subscription, contact me and I might be able to show you all of the images.

Lastly I just wanted to say that because I am going out of town for the last three weeks of March nothing will be shipped until I get back unless I get enough orders to justify me getting my shit together and mailing stuff out. After I get back I will be shipping at least once a week. Just be warned.

Now, without further ado I want to announce the first print for March. It is a warehouse I found in Willamsburg filled with nothing but kegs. Order today!
