LVHRD does some fun events.  I used to cover their events for them a while ago but I hadn’t heard from them in a while.  They contacted me about being part of their PHTHRD party.  I was a competitor in the first PHTHRD.  Me and four other photographers battled live, using crowd members as models, to shoot three photos in 2 hours.  It was a lot of fun but I had not slept in 30 hours and sort of went insane.  I think I broke up with my girlfriend at the time later that night.  I also did not do well in the voting do to a number of strange issues… Anyway, this time around the party was not a competition.  The event was set up so that everyone had to bring a camera and try to break the record for most photos taken at a party.  This is a dubious record, but luckily the Universal Records Database was on hand to create even more dubious ones all night.  I thought you guys might be excited to know that for a short period I was the world’s record holder for the longest slow motion Matrix dance.  I was defeated only moments later, but at least my dance was way slower.  I think that is why it hurt so much more.  During the party, to give people things to shoot Kiju Big Battel Monsters showed up through out the night and messed with the several hundred photographers wondering around.  It was tons of fun.  With 200 people taking photos at the same time it gets sort of hard to drag my flash, so there is a lot of more “experimental” shots in here than normal.  I was enjoying people messing up my shots.  Some things came out really cool.  I also did a few long exposures, but I don’t really have the right equipment (a tripod might have helped…) or the patience for that that type of thing.  Moving on…

Everyone is uploading their photos to Flickr to try to break the questionable record.  Check their shots out… and then check my shots out.  I need to get mine up there, but I don’t really wanna mess up my Flickr (and yes, I know I haven’t really updated it in over a year…).  I will get them up soon though… Oh yeah, Nick Catchdubbs DJ’d; Had to give him a shout out.
