Industry Dip – 6.10.08

So I love swimming.  And I love girls in bikinis.  And I love dance parties.  I cannot think of anything better than a Hotel QT pool party.  It is slightly terrifying that I will destroy my camera, which is why these photos are shot with my recently made back up camera.  And although I am sick of making excuses for why my photos sometimes suck, due to me being a moron, these photos are not that amazing, but I will keep why that is to my self.  Fortunately they are really fun, so I am pretty sure that makes up for it.  ALSO, they were good enough for the Voice, so bite me.  I can’t wait for the next one.   Check out all the sexy photos here. (So sexy in fact, that I am rating these NSFW due to some ever so exciting female nipples!)

M – 6.9.08

I went to hotel QT for the pool party last night.  It was great.  I will have photos up from it soon.

After that I went to M at Darkroom, which I never shoot anymore.  I am there all the time, but I seem to never take pictures.  I was in such a good mood from the pool party though, I had to.    I shot with my old camera because I didn’t want to get the new one wet.  I think that makes sense.  Okay, M was way fun, although not too crowded.  I have not had more than 6 hours of sleep in a night for the last week and my car broke down and I have to get it towed before I have to go to work tomorrow so I am going to bed now.  This is why you just get Darkroom photos now… I actually want to spend some time on the pool update.  Word.

Vice Tales Of Colt 45 Party – 6.9.08

I shot the Vice/Colt 45 party for the Village Voice as you can see here.  I got there a bit late and unfortunately I missed Dreamburger. I did catch Snakes Say Hiss and Luca AKA Drop The Lime AKA Curses.  It was so damned hot at Glasslands and my new camera was acting up (I still need to read the manual) so I got out of there pretty quick.  I took some fun shots.  If you don’t see yourself on the Voice, there are more shots here.

All I Need Is Cop

So I got a parking ticket the other day and it made me realize I don’t have any cop friends that could fix this situation for me. So I decided to place some personal ads on Craigslist. Click the adds to see the actual posts while they last.

UPDATE – 6.12.08:
I didn’t receive any responses to my add until today.

The $#%#D@ nerve.  I hope they hammer you hard.
What your asking for and what your offering in return is a serious charge.
I suggest you stay off of craigs list with your nonsense.

Friday Photos – 6.6.08

Last night the party seemed to allude me no matter where I went.  I first stopped at Trash which evidently was bumping… so bumping in fact that the cops decided that it was over capacity and shut it down.  Then I went to Ruff Club and the downstairs was so hot I wanted to cry and then I got a text from an old friend who was at Andrew WK’s new venue which may or may not be called Santa’s Party House or Santo’s Party House or something.  She said it was great before I got there, but by the time I got there people were just standing around awkwardly.  Also, there are signs disallowing photography, which I think is complete fucking bullshit so I will probably never go there again.  In fact I was going to cover the party there tonight for the Voice but they wouldn’t even grant the Voice access so I am shooting the Vice/ Colt 45 party in Brooklyn instead.  After that her and I went over to Le Royale for Robot Rock.  We were tricked by a livery cab driver to have him take us there and charged us $25 for a five minute ride.  This is like the first thing I learned in NYC was not to get in one of those cars with out knowing the price, but the guy totally tricked us.  I probably would have refused to pay for it, but my friend had just spent $30 on a drink at Upstairs and felt that $25 was reasonable at this point.  Anyway, it was before 3 when we got to Le Royale but they wouldn’t let us in.  After explaining that I am friends with pretty much everyone involved in that party they let me in, but it was mostly dead.  Marc Allen Gray told me it was crazy packed with hot German girls right before I got there or something.  I don’t even know.  Anyway, I took like 30 photos all night at random points so I just put them all up here.  Whatever.  I gotta get over to Glasslands for the Vice thingy.

High Voltage – 6.4.08

Wednesday night at like 3 am I was sitting in my apartment updating this site.  I looked at the photos from my new camera and got excited.  I ran out side for like 30 minutes and got down to Annex and shot like 60 photos.  I am not that excited about them because I was just fucking around really quickly, but still… learning more about the camera.  Thanks for all the emails about the new stuff.

Click to see the few photos I took Wednesday.

My Day Job

As you know this site has been a bit slow recently and as you know this is because I now have a day job.  That job is working for the Internet Archive scanning old books that are now in the public domain so that anyone can download them forever.  I have gotten pretty good at it if the books don’t suck.  I scanned 4300 pages today.  Anyway I wanted to show you guys my little library.  You can click this link and look at all the books I have ever scanned.  Updated daily.

Anyway, the last cart of books we did had all these insanely racist old books with titles like “The Negro Problem” and “The Black Shadow And The Red Death“.  The later is a religious attack on the blacks and latinos in America at the turn of the century.  The book calls the Chinese “Coolies” and refers constantly to “Huns”.  It is so insanely fucked up.

Six Six Sick – 6.3.08

Ho ho! What have we here? New photos taken with a new camera. Thanks to my economic stimulus check (thank you George Bush!) and a birthday present from my parents, I am currently in possession of a brand new shiny Nikon D300 and a 5 year damage warrantee! I can bring my new fantastic camera out with me and when I fall out of a DJ booth and smash it into a the 5 inch heel of a transgendered go-go dancer I can send it in to get fixed free of charge. Anyway, this camera can do so much that I have not even begun to figure it out. All I have learned so far is how to change the ISO, Shutter Speed and FStop which is pretty much the only thing you could do on the Vietnam-era Pentax that I learned photography on 12 years ago. I had to get another photoblogger to help me figure out why my flash wasn’t syncing right. Anyway, this has tremendous possibilities. I am pretty excited with the results. These photos look dope, but they are warmer and more underexposed than normal. I need to play with the white balance a bit and get used to the beautiful screen. It makes everything look TOO good. So I don’t realize how underexposed shit is. The other problem is that the files are so big now that is is taking way longer to manage them. I am going to have to come up with a new system for my photos, so I can put away my old as PC for good. Someone teach me how to use Adobe Bridge please.

Okay. I really need you guys to let me know what you think. Please look at all the photos by clicking here, and let me know in the comments section how you feel about them. Do they still look like my work? Any suggestions, comments. Thanks…

TKObama

In a 12 round decision fight, Barack Obama is the Democratic Nominee for President in 2008.  I hope I helped in some small way.
