2/27/04 - Someone Remind Me To Update... Email Igor
Jesus, quite some time has passed since my last update.  No wonder my hits have been down.  My apologies, don't let me forget next time.  To make it up to you I will give you some free music.  You see, the Gaskets won the VMA's so we should celebrate.  No, not the Video Music Awards, but the Virginia Music Awards.  It is not quite as legitimate, but it's probably more legit than the Grammys.  I don't know what it is called, but we won awards for Best Pop Band and Best Album.  Pretty impressive considering I didn't rig the votes as much as I planned.  There was even a really funny picture of us in the Richmond Times Dispatch.  Anyway, the free music that I promised is the Gaskets' Remix of Fett's Vette by mc chris.  Also included are two live recordings of Gasket songs that that are both better than anything on Big Fun.  Yeah check out the New Hotness and Movie About You.   Enjoy the Gask, let me know what you think.

Happy Valentines Day.  So in my life I have spent exactly 1 V-Day, not single.  And that day I was 5 hours away from my girlfriend, so this day has been especially depressing for me and about everyone else in the world.  This month has really been horrible for me, but I really have been looking forward to this party tonight.  I am going to rock to the max.  That being said, this day has already started out kinda shitty.  I had 3 photo shoots for this project I am working on, but the three people just decided to do something else instead.  Also, my phone temporarily broke, and I didn't do anything I was going to do today.  The point is, Barry fucking Gamble is coming into town today, and we are going to tear shit up at this shin-dig tonizzy.  I feel most of Richmond will be at this party, and I am almost contemplating getting drunk, but I don't really drink and I have 3 photo shoots tomorrow, that hopefully will actually happen.  Okay,  you don't fucking care.  I know, but I need something to type.  Okay, let's move on.  Here are some links.

Doug from Troma quit (got fired?), and I stopped getting free shit.  However, he has started a new production company and is almost finished his first(?) film, Punk Rock Holocaust.  You should defiantly check that out.  Hopefully I will get a screener at some point and I'll review it for you.  Speaking of DVD's Move On just put out Bush In 30 Seconds.  Now that Clark is out, I have turned my sites on supporting Anti-Bush campaigns.  When the General Election starts, I will be backing whoever wins, cough *Kerry* cough..., but in the mean time, I donated some money to Move On.  We need to get Bush the fuck out of here.  Also, I need to plug my friend Rick's store, It's about an hour from my house so I haven't gotten out there yet, but I am sure its rad so you should check it out.

New update to Photos By Igor soon.  Adios.

2/3/04 - Blah Email Igor
I think I need to move.  Unfortunately I have a year and a half left of school some how.  That will make 6.5 years of college.  You know I think my 5th year graduation is coming up soon.  "So Nate", they will say, "what have you been up to?  I am going to law school!"  And I will tell them, "Well I run a pretty big web site that I hate running, but I have worked too hard to kill it, so I just let it burn a $500 dollar a year hole in my pocket." "Oh, that's nice, what else?"  "Well I work for a few bands that are going no where, because I work harder than they do, and even if they do make money, I sure as hell am not going to get any of it."  "Oh, well how did school go?"  "Oh well, you see, I am still in school, and I am an art major, meaning that when I finally do graduate, I will be jobless and will have to work at Starbucks in order to get health insurance."  "Hmm... how are you liking college?"  "Um, I don't really like anyone, the few people I am friends with are 4 years younger than me, and in the last 2 years I had 1 girlfriend, and our relationship lasted all of 8 days."  Woo!  I think I'll be skipping that day.  It seems I work my ass off for nothing.  I did however get my first check from my freelance job at Richmond.com.  I got $130 dollars for less than 3 hours.  Unfortunately, I only worked 3 hours in all of January.  Blah.

The only thing that keeps me sane right now is movies.  I watch one or two a day.  Today I watched "Roshamon" again, and then I watched the Bruce Willis movie "Last Man Standing" because Rashamon reminded me of Kurosawa's movie "Yogimbo" that "Last Man Standing" was based on.  Come to think of it, if anyone wants to buy me Kurosawa's Criterion box set I would appreciate it.  My brother was going to get it for me for X-Mas, but instead he bought me a movie about cockfighting, named strangely enough "Cockfighter".  He also got me "Tokoyo Story" by one of Kurosawa's contemporaries, Ozu and this movie Baraka that will be insanely pretty once I finally get my progressive scan DVD player.   Oh shit, you know what, I also watched Kubrick's "Path's Of Glory" this afternoon.  That makes 3 movies I had already seen in one day.  I should definitely start watching new films instead of rewatching old ones.  I have half a Herzog/Kinski box set to watch damnit!    Okay, that's enough of being pretentious and talking about movies that you could give a fuck less about.  Instead I will tell you, that the other day I watched "You Got Served"  and while it is far inferior to its predecessors, "Breakin", "Breakin 2 (Electric Boogaloo") and "Beat Street", it was still pretty fucking sweet. Although I still have to give the best street dancing award of the year to "Honey" which is strikingly similar to "Electric Boogaloo".  All that being said, someone give me some new movies to watch, my Netflix queue is running very low.  At least send me an email about movies so I have someone to talk to about them.  And god help you if you mention "The Matrix" or "Lord Of The Rings" (unless of course you are discussing how much better "Dead Alive" and "Bad Taste" were than "LOTR".)

Lastly I think I might get an Ipod.  Why would I do such a thing you ask?  Because I realized I could listen to all my Nirvana CD's with out having to look through my 700+ CD collection to find them.  You see, I decided today that Nirvana was the most important thing to happen to my life.  I could go into detail on that but I have been rambling all night about random shit, so I will spare you that.  I will just say that if it weren't for the album "Incesticide"  I would be a completely different person.  I think It may be time to compile my top 25 CD's and movies of all time.  I will tell you right now that at least 2 Nirvana CD's will be on that list, and definitely two movies by Kubrick and two by Takeshi Miike.  Other than that I think no two bands or directors will show up more than once, unless you count They Might Be Giants double album "Then" as two CDs.  Word.  It is time to work on those lists.

PS. We still need Gasket help in Birmingham and Nashville.

Here is January.
