Third & Long

I just wanted to give a shout out to this bar called Third And Long that I have been to the last couple of Sundays. As you should know by now I am a huge fan of the Miami Dolphins. I have spent the last two years watching football with the Two Michelles at this Patriots bar called the Hairy Monk. I always hated it but they are really the only Dolphins fans I know, and we had our own corner. Last weekend though we were given word of a spot just up the street where Dolphins fans were gathering. That bar is Third And Long. Last week I thought the Michelles were at the game in Toronto. But Tall Michelle called me in the second quarter to tell me that only short was in Toronto and she was at this newly established Dolphins hang out. I jumped in a cab at half time and ended up making it all the way from Brooklyn to 3rd and 35th in about 20 min and only missed two plays. The bar was great and the Dolphins fans were dominant. We had our own section and I cheered till I lost my voice. That was two weeks ago.

On this past Sunday I woke up so excited to make it to Third And Long. When I got there it was only Dolphins fans. Short Michelle had made a big sign for us and we settled in to a loud and exciting afternoon. The Dolphins won again, that’s 7 out of 8 wins in a row. Two more and we are in the playoffs.   They were taking pictures of all of us and chatting it up. I think they were really happy to see a big crowd in there and of of the guys told us that since the Skins were pretty much out of the playoffs, he is jumping on the Dolphins bandwagon. We are glad to have him aboard. The only problem with the bar is that they don’t serve food so I had to get food during half time and bring it in. Yes, the bar is BYOF. Bring you own food.

I got a cheesesteak from Carl’s Steaks which despite being run by Jets fans is one of the best cheesesteaks I have ever had in my life. Best in NYC for sure. I am on a diet right now and had been good all week, it made the steak even better. Of course as soon as I finished my food a catering company came in and set up all this food in the back. The owner of the bar, just decided to buy everyone food. I had just eaten, and I am on a diet, but there were wings, ribs and pulled pork. Not to mention a bunch of sides and deserts. It was such a sick spread. I had to eat even more. I had 4 wings, 3 ribs and a lot of BBQ and coleslaw. Plus a cookie and a brownie. It was one of the great eating experiences of my life. And I still managed to lose like 5 lbs over the last 10 days.

So, LONG story short, Third And Long is my new favorite place on earth. They run a blog which my Dolphins shoes made the front page of (see below) and it is pretty entertaining. Also on Monday’s they have a recession special where you can get mugs of beer for $1. That is pretty brilliant. It makes me want to take up drinking. Speaking of not drinking; Since they don’t serve food, and I don’t drink, I feel totally guilty enjoying myself there and especially with all the free food. So I bought a Sprite and decided to pay $5 for it even though I don’t really drink soda. I hope maybe this blog will convince some of you guys to go there and spend money for me. I will be rallying more Dolphins fans so that will help ease my conscience.

Oh, on an unrelated note, which is going to be mentioned on an upcoming blog soon, I have a Facebook group now. You should check that out.

Web Weekend V - 11.9.08

Okay.  Here are all the football related photos from my trip to Miami.  I got passes to be on the field before the game and we had crazy close seats, and my photos are still pretty bad.  I know I don’t have a telephoto lens or anything, but it gives you some new found respect for sports photographers… although I always thought I would be good at that.  I didn’t really shoot a lot, but there are a bunch of pictures of the practice facility tour and and the guest speakers.  We had Brian Wiedmeier COO of the Dolphins, Jeff Ireland GM of the Dolphins, head coach Tony Sporano and former all pro guard Keith Sims.  There are also some cheerleader photos in there if you don’t care about football.

The trip was a blast and the Dolphins won a far too close game which came down to the wire.  It was pretty fun and we got on the jumbotron a bunch of times.  Totally exciting.

Check out the pictures from the weekend here.

I’m Back

I just got back from Miami where I watched my Dolphins beat the Seattle Seahawks in most dramatic of fashions.  Then I hung out with a bunch of drunk Newfies and got a few hours of sleep on their hotel room floor in order to save me the $200 I was going to spend on a room.  You see, another trip to Miami has resulted in another broken camera lens so I decided I could not afford to stay another night in the hotel.  I will go into further details about that disaster when I post the extremely hot photos I as taking when said disaster occurred.  It may be a while on those though… In the mean time I have some sexy photos from last week and the Miami Dolphins related photos you probably will be less than excited about.  I only got a few restless hours of sleep last night and I had a lay over (of in all places Richmond) and I need to catch up on some shit.  I don’t have much time over the next few days, but let’s see how things work out.

Oh yeah, it is not quite Good Morning America, but I was on TV again…

Random Blog

Due to some bullshit I am having some issues uploading photos to my site. It should be fixed some time tomorrow. So here is a nice random blog about a few things that have happened of late.

  • I blew up a hard drive with all my naked photos. I have a hard drive filled with n00ds that I have taken that are both for this site and for um… “personal use”. I have that drive both password protected and hidden so that if I lose my laptop or something no one puts these images online or something. And like I said it is hidden and not really accessible so I only get it once ever few weeks/months to update and stuff. Anyway it had been awhile and I couldn’t find the right power cord. I did find a cord to my video camera which fit the hole. Unfortunately it was not the right voltage and now my hard drive is completely fried. I could do some sort of recovery but I am not sure that I trust a computer tech not to steal any of my images and it is really expensive. I sort of feel like it is better not to have those images floating around anyway, so yeah, they might be gone forever. I guess we shall see.
  • This weekend I went to Hartford, CT to a hot dog restaurant/ Miami Dolphins sports bar to watch football. My friends Tall and Short Michelle work for the Dolphins and they went to the bar to do a video story on Woody’s the hot dog place and The Fish Tank the Phins sports bar. I went along to hold the camera, eat hot dogs, and watch football. The bar was amazing, the hot dogs were fantastic and the Dolphins embarrassed the Chargers. The Dolphins actually look like an NFL football team instead of Miami A&M. Evidently Woody’s is pretty famous for their hot dogs and I ate a Deputy Dog which was pulled pork, BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese. I also ordered a similar dog but I traded the cheese for cole slaw in traditional southern BBQ fashion. My pork/slaw dog was about the best thing I have ever tasted.
  • My Friday & Saturday nights were spent hanging out with two old Richmond friends who have recently moved to NYC. I took them out for fun times rock and roll. My friend Mara and I went to Webster Hall (Pictures coming soon) and Trash and I went to Lauren Flax birthday and Ellen Stagg’s party on Saturday with my friend Sally. I feel like something interesting happened, but maybe not. I did get threatened by some latino skinheads, but other than that a pretty slow weekend.
  • I have become obsessed with Economics since the recent downturn of the economy. I have been listening to NPR’s Planet Money podcast and reading everything I can about Sub Prime Mortgages, Naked Short Selling and supply side economics. I am actually quickly finding myself to be a socialist. And I think I may quit party blogging to become an economist. Maybe a rapping economist who gives shout outs to the FED and Henry Paulson. I thought of an album title “No Income, No Asses”. And if you get that joke, you are either an investment banker or as unreasonably obsessed with this Bailout as I am.
  • I saw a grown man, probably in his late 20’s, African American, seemingly educated and a reasonable person engaged in reasonable conversation with his friends.  Suddenly he saw a subway ad that had a picture of George Bush on it.  He walked up to it in full view of the mostly full train and Sharpied out his eyes, drew a mustache on his face and wrote “BIATCH” on his forehead and sat back down.  It was sort of amazing.  It was like the most beautiful subversive act of protest.  “Biatch”.  It says it all.

Okay, that is all for now.  Hopefully I will have two updates of photos up tomorrow and some other random stuff in the next few days.  I have the week after this off and if I don’t go out of town hopefully I will get a lot of work done on this site, but if I do go out of town I am sure I will have some good stuff too. Indeed.  See you soon.

Oh, here is a recent shot of my underwear.  I just figured I would give you something to look at while you wait for new photos of sexy ladies.

Super Bowl Bound

The Miami Dolphins could in fact be the greatest football team every to play the game of football.  Okay, maybe that is a slight exaggeration, but last week when they got embarrassed by the historically lowly Arizona Cardinals I was sure they were the worst team to ever play the game, so watching them beat the living snot out of the hated New England Patriots was enough to bring tears to my eyes.  Seriously, I only got 3 hours of sleep last night and I actually considered sleeping in and missing the game.  It would have been the first game I missed since 2003.  Thank god I woke up randomly at noon.

I am sure you don’t care but Ronnie Brown lined up as quarter back six times during the game and scored on 4 of those plays including a passing touchdown.  He rushed for over 100 yards with 5 scores.  Ricky Williams also had nearly 100 yards and they gave up no sacks and no turnovers.  Fucking brilliant.

Okay, so I am going to take a nap now, but Jesus fucking Christ I am ecstatic.  Miami Dolphins #1!

Igor Vs. 2 Michelles

As you may know I run a Miami Dolphins web site.  So do my friends the 2 Michelles.  One of our favorite players Jason Taylor is on Dancing With The Stars and they decided to make a video about him and his dancing.  They asked  me to come along with them to a dance studio and film them dancing around.  They even bought my oysters after.  Check out the two videos and watch both my amazing cinematography and my overpowering stage presence.  Click to open the videos in a new window.

2008 NFL Draft - 3.26.08

After a crazy night of partying with porn stars, nothing says relaxing like waiting in line for 11 hours to watch someone read names off cards.  After Trash Friday night I went straight to Radio City Music Hall where I ran into some fellow Miami Dolphins fans and we all stood in the rain with 5000 other of the most hard core football fans on Earth.  I got there around 4 and they didn’t give out wrist bands until 10.  Once you had a wrist band you had to line up to get into Radio City Music Hall for the draft that started at 3PM.  That is 11 hours of waiting.  The first several hours it was cold and rainy and miserable.  No place to sit because of the rain.  One crazy dude got out of his car and started yelling at us about how we should go back to Miami and that everyone who wasn’t a Jets or a Giants fan was a queer.  He was very large and people mostly let him get away with it.  Other than that it was sort of uneventful.  At some point someone started passing out flyers for a ticket scalping service that looked exactly like $20 bills.  I put one across the street and we waited for someone to pick it up.  Then we all laughed at them.  We repeated this several times and by like the third time we had the entire line of people watching. If someone picked up the bill at that point they had 300 football fans yelling at them.  Suddenly, around 930 everyone started running towards the doors.  I have no idea what happened, but the line was no longer an issue.  Everyone ditched all their tailgating stuff and just started running towards the door.  Tons of people were asleep and were now being trampled.   It was crazy.  The cops eventually corralled everyone into some barriers that they had up.   Everyone was smashed in together and as the line surged more people got trampled and everyone was shoved.  It was horrible.  People who had been waiting all night were now standing next to people who had been there 30 minutes.  Everyone was pissed and screaming.  Chants of bullshit rang out.  Despite the horribleness of said situation there was something nice about all these angry fans coming together in their rage.  Also, everyone in the league pretty much hates the Patriots so whenever anyone with a Pats jersey walked by everyone screamed at them.  And since I hate the Pats more than anyone in the world, that was pretty nice.  After we eventually got wristbands and waited another few hours to get in we had a nice relaxing time sitting through 7 hours of an old man reading off names of 22 year old football players.  And trying to stay awake.  And a lot more screaming.

Despite all the bullshit and the fact that I may possibly have turned down a threesome with porn stars I still had a blast and will remember the day forever.  The only reason I had my camera on me was because I came straight from the party and had it on me.  I didn’t really think about taking photos, but I took a few, and they are here on 476ad.com.  They don’t really make sense on DBB.  Word.  Go Dolphins!

Must Sleep Forever!!!

Sweet merciful lord. I woke up yesterday around noon after a few hours of sleep because I forgot to pick up my sleeping pills and had to take a bunch of tylenol PM instead. Then I did some shit and cleaned my apartment and updated this site and blah blah blah. Then I went to the Burning Angel party at Trash. I will just have to say that that was completely fucking insane. I am going to do a two part series, part one up tomorrow, and the really fucked up photos on Monday. I also have a girl/girl gallery that will be up as well. Anyway, the point was I was completely drained from the lack of sleep and my balls hurt from the naked girls and groping. So what did I do? I took a cab to Radio City Music Hall and stood in the rain until 9:30 AM waiting for tickets to see the NFL Draft. At 9:30 they opened the door and basically everyone started running full sprint at the door. Like 3000 people. It was insane, people got trampled etc. 2 hours later after being crushed by people I had a wristband. Then several hours of waiting in another line I got inside. From the time I left Trash to the time I got inside it had been 11 hours. Then I watched the draft until 10PM. It is now 10 o’clock, roughly 34 hours after I woke up. I want to die. GO DOLPHINS!

Real story and photos tomorrow.  Preview below.

Welcome Jake Long

I know none of you guys care, but my Miami Dolphins just signed a contract with Michigan left tackle Jake Long. He is now officially going to be the number one pick in the draft and hopefully the Dolphins left tackle for the next decade.

Lets learn about Jake together!

Jeeeeez…

Holy Jeezus.  I have had a pretty crazy few days.  I just got off a 6 hour bus ride and I am getting rushed off to some party in Orlando.  I broke ANOTHER camera… this time my Yashica film camera.  But at least it was broken in a fantastic fashion.  We trashed the penthouse at the hotel in amazing fashion while listening to old hardcore music.  I have pictures of the devastation.  It is fantastic.  I really have to rush off now, but I have crazy stuff to talk about and photos to show.

In the mean time, I just wanted to show you my new tattoo.   I decided that if I was in Miami I would get a Miami Dolphins tattoo.  Despite my absolute love of the Dolphins, I am not quite lame enough to get a football tattoo, so I decided I would get Dan Marino’s number which luckily for me is the number 13, which is totally rock and roll.  So I got like a hard core rock and roll 13, that happens to be aqua and orange.  I also got my arm filled in a bit so it looks more sleeve like.

It ended up being a lot better than I thought it would be.  I can’t find the guys card who did it but in a few days I will post a better photo with a link to his portfolio.  I know the card is in my bag somewhere.  Anyway, good dude, funny tattoo.

Auto Update Florida #5: Dance Jason Dance

Since I am in Miami (or maybe on the way out of town) I think that I should rep the Miami Dolphins.  As a HUGE Dolphins fan I am probably going to come home with a bunch of random Dolphins stuff like gas station cups and maybe a novelty foam finger or something.  Anyway, it is not football season, and nothing exciting happens until the draft in late April.  The only thing going on in Dolphins world is that our star defensive end Jason Taylor is kicking ass in Dancing With The Stars.  I have never actually seen this show, but tonight he is going to be dancing or something and hopefully kicking the shit out of everyone else.  Here he is doing a Mambo last week! Go JT!

Perfectville

Since I didn’t really start following the Dolphins until 1987 the 1972 Miami Dolphins undefeated season has never been a huge point of pride with me.  I can’t really talk shit about something that happened 8 years before I was born.  That being said, after the Pats choked last night I have never been more proud to be a Miami Dolphins fan thanks to my home town New York Giants… my new favorite team.

I Love The New York Giants

Holy, shit, best night ever. The 1972 Dolphins are still the only undefeated team of all time. God bless the New York Giants for wiping up the field with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Today I was going to post a bunch of naked stuff, but this is way too great. FUCK THE PATS! Oh man. Oh joy. More 1972 Dolphins/ New York Giants praise when I wake up tomorrow!

I didn’t bring my camera out with me tonight, but I borrowed my friends camera and ran into the streets and took random photos of drunk screaming Giants fans. These might be the worst photos I have ever taken. There is a sort of celebrity sighting too… my friend Aziz Ansari from MTVs Human Giant was roaming the street and ended up in my gallery. Photos are here, and look how happy I was after the Giants scored with less than a minute to go.

PS. Seriously, my teeth are not that yellow in real life.

A Few Of My Favorite Things: Football Plays

A Few Of My Favorite Things is a series that appears most weekends on Driven By Boredom. Each week I talk about three of my favorite things from a specific genre of film, music, or something else all together. Each favorite thing is accompanied by a video and a description of why it is one of my favorite things. Click here for more favorites.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday. In honor of this greatest of holidays I am going to be talking about three great football plays. Now, because of NFL’s fascist control over their highlights I can’t show you my favorite plays… or the favorite NFL moments I have had… in fact, I am not even going to be able to show you all of the plays that I am going to talk about. One of these clips is going to be from Tecmo Bowl. Anyway, I am sort of obsessed with football. I try not to mention it on here too much, but I do run a Miami Dolphins website (Bonus Link: me talking Dolphins football on FinsRadio.com) As you may or may not know, the Dolphins are the only team to have gone undefeated. Today our devision rivals, the New England Patriots attempt to become the first team since the Dolphins did it in 1972 to win every game. This I am not happy about. So I am root, root rooting for my home team and praying that some how the Giants can win this game. It is not likely, but I pray. Anyway, all my favorite football moments involve the Dolphins, and there are almost no Dolphins highlights online, so instead I am going to bring you three amazing football plays, for three different reasons. Keep reading to find out which.
