Recently I met the awesome and babelicious Jesse Lee Denning (who you might recognize from the cover of the April issue of Inked Magazine). She invited me over to her amazing spot in the West Village and she took her clothes off on her porch and I took photos as I tend to do. It was fantastic and now there are a bunch of NSFW pictures that you will want to look at.

Maybe it’s because I am writing this at 7am but I don’t have much else to say other than Jesse Lee rules and I have a feeling we will be shooting again soon. I really dig these photos and I hope you do too. I also feel like I should give a shout out to my Aussie homegirl Renee Ruin who despite living thousands of miles away hooked us New Yorkers up.

I hit up the Wolf Party at Le Souk last night pretty much just because I needed to get out of the house and take some damn photos. I hadn’t shot anything in almost a week and I just needed to do something. I have been focusing on getting a number of projects organized and I haven’t had a lot of time to actually shoot photos.

I am really glad I did go out last night. The party was a blast and I ended up running into a bunch of people I don’t get to see that often any more like Roxy Cottontail, DJ Jess, Sam Valentine and Mike De Guzman. I used to see all of those kids at least weekly a few years ago but I guess it is not 2007 anymore. I also ran into Hunter Moore from isanyoneup.com who I haven’t seen in 4 years. He told me I have been submitted to his site a bunch of times but he has kept the pics off. Us internet smut peddlers have to stick together!

Anyway, the party was fun, as you can probably tell from the pictures. Right… you haven’t seen those yet…

I have lost track of how many of these “All My Friends Are In Bands” things I have done so this is just a new update. This one is also slightly different because one of the bands I am not friends with at all so it sort of defeats the purpose. That being said I needed a third video and They Might Be Giants are one of my all time favorite bands, there album Join Us is amazing enough that I actually bought it twice and their video features Rip Fucking Torn.

Well I guess we are already starting with the TMBG video so let’s begin with that. As I mentioned their new album Join Us is great. I bought it as an Amazon download and then I bought it again on vinyl which came with a download code which was pretty stupid of me, but this band got me out of the worst time in my life so they can keep my money. When I was a sophomore in college I broke up with the love of my life and I was destroyed. Like I have never been and never will be destroyed. Right before she broke up she lent me Flood by TMBG which was one of my favorite albums as a little kid. I started listening to it all the time and then I got into some of TMBGs other stuff and I realized this band was so brilliant and not the joke band that I saw on Tiny Tunes. Their songs were so sad yet so upbeat at the same time. They were all I listened to for three three months it took me to begin to get over this girl. I have seen them probably ten times (although never in NYC which is odd considering we both live in Brooklyn) and they always were fantastic. There is actually a close up clip of me in the crowd in their documentary.

The other important thing about TMBG is that if it weren’t for them I might never have met The Gaskets, the band I managed for 5 years. A friend called me down to see them because they reminded me of TMBG. The Gaskets weren’t that into TMBG at the time but as soon as I showed them the music we quickly bonded over it and they ended up covering Don’t Let’s Start. (8 years later I am still working on showing their music to the world… and you can help by donating to fund the tribute album dedicated to deceased Gaskets member Ross Harman.)

Anyway, this video is awesome and Rip Torn is a bad mother fucker. I know you want to watch him do battle in some sort of hipster fight club. Seriously, watch it:

Next up we got my dude Ease Da Man’s new video for Levitate. It features Lynx Supreme and is pretty much the only track on the Average Sized Penis mix tape that isn’t about Ease doing drugs. This song is pretty much Ease just spiting madness about how awesome he dresses and setting designer clothes on figure while yelling FUCK SWAG. I support all of this and I sort of think Ease is a brilliant human who should be dead but somehow keeps existing. Plus the hook is catchy as fuck. I already posted this on my Tumblr but watch it again:

Lastly we have Ninjasonik who seem to show up more than any other band in these music video write ups. They constantly put out videos and they are always pretty fucking awesome. This new video isn’t quite as epic as the masterpiece that was Moshpit but it’s still pretty wild and the opening line telling Pitchfork to suck a dick is real on point. This video is for a track called Prostitute off the No Swords Or Masks mix tape, it guest stars Courcy and it features a lot of graphic Jah Jah on television sex. Have no idea what I am talking about? Watch the fucking video:

Hey guys! Meet Dante. She is a Gods Girl who came all the way from Australia to shoot with me! Okay, that’s not true at all, but she is from Australia and she is visiting our fine country and fortunately I got a hold of her before she made her way to the west coast where she is no doubt causing havoc and getting naked for fun.

Her and I hung out all day a few weeks ago. I convinced her to come run some errands with me and on the way we took a bunch of photos of her naked in public. At one point the cops caught us and we thought we were going to get yelled at but they just wanted us to get out of the middle of the street. I bought her dinner in exchange for her help causing a scene all over the Lower East Side.

The pics we took in public were all on film and they didn’t make for a real set or anything, but we did want to do a real shoot for the site so I decided that we should head over to Le Bain that night and shoot in their hot tub because The Standard seems pretty okay with people getting naked in their hotel. Unfortunatly by the time it was party o’clock the last thing I wanted to do was go all the way to Le Bain so instead we just walked around my neighborhood until we found this random grafitti covered door way to shoot in. It was a pretty cliched set idea but I have completely ran out of locations so we shot for 10 or 15 minutes at 1am while people kept walking by us.

Dante is fucking amazing and adorable and probably deserved a better shoot but I hope she is happy with the pics we did get. I hope you guys dig them too… Um. NSFW. Duh.

For years I have been carrying a little 35mm point and shoot camera with me everywhere and documenting my life. The cameras have changed and I have broken more than I want to remember but the one thing that has stayed pretty consistant is that I am constantly taking photos of my friends eating. In my head I have been working on a zine of food photogaphy and one of the things I wanted was a big spread of just hundreds of pictures of my friends eating. The other day I put all those pictures into one folder and decided I should put them on Driven By Boredom. It seemed like a good idea.

So in this gallery you are going to get over 100 photos of me eating with different people. There are some common themes. There is a lot of photos of photographers and models because I know I can always write that stuff off. There are a bunch of dates. There are a lot of photos at Kellogg’s Diner because I have lived a few blocks away from it for more than 5 years. There are a couple pictures of cute girls at Popeyes because even though taking a date to fast food is a horrible idea it is still my favorite place to eat. There are a few photos of me too… and a handful of famous porn stars.

Anyway, I feel like this is a fun gallery and I will probably keep updating it in the future. I took a new shot just yesterday. Good times.

Over a year ago one of my best friends Ross Harman took his own life. I managed his band The Gaskets for five years and when he died I decided I had to play manager one more time. I reached out to many of his musician friends and got them to cover songs of his for a tribute album. A year later we had created a tribute album featuring 15 bands and 18 songs.

We were going to just put the album out digitally but the album was so good that we knew we had to do something more permanent so we decided we would try to raise money to put it out on vinyl. We held a fundraiser for him in Richmond, VA and raised over $4000. We raised so much money that now we are trying to raise money to release his solo albums, Calcutta and Symphony, as well.

So we started a Kickstarter fund to raise $2000 of the $5000 or so we needed to really do these albums right. I put it up late last night and just posted it to Facebook and Twitter and went to sleep. When I woke up we had raised $800 already. It has really been amazing. I sort of feel like we are going to hit our goal of $2000 by the end of the weekend or something crazy like that but I want to keep going and see if we can raise the full $5000. We could really make something special.

Anyway, I know most of you don’t know who my friend Ross was but he was really an amazing musician. All his music, solo or with The Gaskets, is available for free at TheGaskets.com. Check it out and think about donating to this project. Plus for those of you who are into my photography you have a chance to get prints of mine on the cheap. The Occupy Wall Street Protest reached day 11 yesterday and I finally headed down to Liberty Park in the finantial district to find out what was going on. If you are somehow now aware of the protest it is a couple hundred people living in a park in Wall Street who are protesting all sorts of different things. There have been a bunch of arrests and problems that have made national news and a bunch of celebrities showing up to offer kind words to the protesters living there.

As someone who is left leaning politically and as a punk rock youth would probably living down there with them I generally support a lot of what is going on. That being said there is no real focus and it is so overly PC and radically leftist so I don’t think it is going to attract a much bigger following than is currently down there. I think a lot of people support Wall Street reforms and the end of tax breaks for the wealthy but 99% of those people do not want to join a fucking drum circle. Everyone is so nice down there but it’s so nice that it’s almost condescending. Still, there is a lot of great stuff going on there and I think it is worth supporting these people and it’s about time there is a wildly left swinging answer to the Tea Party.

One of the highlights of my trip down there was Dr. Cornel West showing up. He spoke to reporters around 6PM and then stayed down there talking to everyone and just hugging people. That dude is so bad ass and at 7PM he spoke to everyone during one of the public town hall meetings Occupy Wall Street holds daily. I stuck around to hear him speak and then I had to get out of there when they started giving everyone a lecture about what hand signals to use during a meeting in order to be oh so respectful to everyone. I am sure it is useful to organize that many people but it also makes you just wanna rip some hippies dreadlocks off.

Anyway, I got a few nice shots and met some really interesting people standing up and fighting for what they believe in and you have to respect the hell out of that if nothing else.

Our old friend and DBB favorite, Burning Angel Jessie Lee moved to LA and for some insane reason actually seems to enjoy it out there. She is doing great after the car accident that nearly killed her and she came back to NYC to celebrate her birthday with her old New Yorker friends.

The party was of course held at Trash at Webster Hall and there was all sort of madness in store for her there. There was a pretty wild burlesque show featuring Burning Angel cap’n Joanna Angel doing terrible things on stage dressed as a sexy teacher. Joanna’s babelicious sister Sarah Screams did a strip tease while singing opera which straight blew people’s minds and a Michele Bachmann supporter who’s name I unfortunately cannot remember came out of the closet in the most erotically homosexual of ways on stage. All of these things were wonderful and you must see them no matter which way you swing.

On top of that my friend Loki was hosting and she is a total babe and I rolled to the party with another Burning Angel Aria Rae. Hopefully in the near future I will have sets of both of those girls on my site but who really knows…
