What’s this? Back to back babe posts? First Shay Laren and now another of my all time models Charlotte Stokely?! I didn’t plan it like this but the new episode of Road Strip went up yesterday and it’s my favorite one so far so I had to let you guys know all about it and celebrate the episode with a bunch of mostly unpublished 35mm photos of Charlotte Stokely from my Route 66 trip!

If you aren’t aware somehow, I went on a 31 day road trip last summer. The first 17 days were spent traveling Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles. I made a sold out book out of it and shot a TON of pictures. To help pay for the trip I shot a sexy and educational road trip series for Wood Rocket called Road Strip!

For three days of the trip Charlotte Stokely came with me. I picked her up in St. Louis and she flew home to Oklahoma City. Some of the best stuff of the trip happened with her and it looks like Wood Rocket is making three episodes out of it. The first one came out a month ago but it was pretty much just a teaser for the epicness that is this episode.

In this episode we go to the St. Louis Zoo an amazing wild animal sanctuary in Staunton, MO. We also go to the Catoosa Blue Whale which is a huge Route 66 highlight for me. And then the episode ends with some pretty explicit video of Charlotte in the shower which I actually shot for her website and really need to send her since it’s been over a year and both of us keep forgetting about it. I am adding that to my to do list right now Stokely!

Juggalos are over and it’s time to move on with life. Let’s hit the ground running with a bunch of super babely photos of Shay Laren!

Shay is one of my favorite models and a pretty awesome human as well. Last time I was in LA we were hanging out at some sort of yeti themed bar and Shay started giving me shit about how I never let her wear pretty stuff in shoots because I think frilly underwear is silly. I then of course gave her shit for being too posey and then we made fun of each other for the rest of the night. At some point though I promised I would shoot a bunch of photos of her in a bunch of her sexy underwear so that she could sell it to dudes online.  I also happened to have been given this really amazing Wu-Tang 36 Chambers sweater and I figured I could shoot her in that too.

So as I was walking up to her place with the sweater in my hand I suddenly realized her roommate has an actual 36 Chambers gold record in her damn living room. Seriously. I have no idea how I forgot about that but it seemed like the greatest kismet ever. Fucking amazing.

We banged out this whole shoot in like 20 minutes because we are both god damned professionals. The longest part of the whole thing was her putting on new clothes every time. We just shot in her back yard and she did one strip tease after another until we had shot everything. We broke out the gold record and I even got a few photos of her in my punk rock photo vest thing. It was pretty sweet.

In conclusion, Shay rules, Wu-Tang rules and clearly Shredders Apparel rules for sending me this epic Wu-Tang sweater. I think they might send me some more of their epic sweaters so expect more babes in and out of life changing warm weather outerwear.

And this concludes your 2014 Gathering Of The Juggalos photo updates! A week and eleven posts later the juggalos updates wrap up with this post entitled “Errthang Else”, named of course after DJ Paul’s delicious On Errthang seasoning that I purchased at the Gathering. This post is juga  massive gallery of everything that didn’t fit into the previous ten posts. I know some of you are glad to see me get back to normal on Driven By Boredom, but I know just as man of you will sadly miss your favorite insane clowns.

For those of you that are glad to get back to real life, I have some pretty good updates for this week including some new Shay Laren pictures and some photos from my trip to the Creation Museum. It should be pretty weird. For those of you that are sad to see the juggalos go, don’t worry, there are over 200 photos in this gallery AND I still have a bunch of naked jugglatte photos from 2013 that still haven’t gone up. I know right? Madness.

But yeah, that’s it. I kinda have a feeling this might be my last year covering the Gathering. I think I have taken all the juggalo photos I can and with more media covering it I feel like the thrill is gone. Thornville was a good place to hold the Gathering I think but not being in the middle of nowhere takes some of the adventure out of it. Now I will probably change my mind by next summer and I will certainly be back if a media outlet throws some money at me but if not I just wanna say it’s been a hell of a five years. Whoop whoop and MFMCL!

The penultimate 2014 Gathering of the Juggalos update is the one people wait all year for. An entire gallery of topless and naked juggalettes! This year the gallery was sadly smaller in years past, probably because there were cops at the Gathering, but fear not, there are still a bunch of naked ‘lettes for your viewing pleasure and/or horror.

This post is great because it is loved by so many different people. Juggalos love it cause it features naked juggalettes, perverts love it because it features boobs and then everyone else loves it because they get to send it to their friends and force them to look at people that you would not necessarily look at naked. But you gotta give it up to some of these ladies, there is no shame in their game so to speak. As sexist as people claim juggalos to be, there are no body image issues here. But don’t worry creeps, there are a bunch of babes in here too like Pepper Kester and Gypsy Ninjette!

In my efforts to finish getting up all my photos from the Gathering of the Juggalos I just through a bunch of stuff into a gallery called “Nighttime Madness”. This gallery includes a bunch of stuff including shots of the late night after parties, comedy showcases, wrestling, and much more. Let’s see if I can walk you through it…

Every night at the Gathering there is an after party. In the past they have been some of the Gathering’s best events. This year they did them on the main stage and something about that got away from the intimacy of a small tent in the middle of the woods. A couple years ago I sat on the stage and watched Pharcyde and Warren G did a tribute to Nate Dogg. This year not so much.

The comedy highlights were Gilbert Gottfried who I see all the time in the Lower East Side just walking around and former wrestler Mick Foley. Gottfried did a set of really old jokes which was honestly amazing to see. These are jokes you have heard your entire life done by the guy who wrote them. Watching him get a kick out of the juggalos was the best part though. He just kept getting them to chant insane things like “Fuck Jack Parr!” and then would laugh to himself. It was great. He also did a particularly offensive telling of The Aristocrats which you should clearly watch. Mick Foley really impressed as well. I always enjoyed him as a wrestler, and the guy has written a bunch of best selling books, but he is a fantastic raconteur and told stories that even people who aren’t wresting fans would enjoy. Not that it would matter since pretty much all juggalos are also wrestling fans.

Also included in this gallery are some shots of the girls of the infamous “Passed Out Juggalos“. They find sleeping jugglaos at the Gathering and put their butts on their heads. I realized those pronouns might be confusing and the concept seem mildly awful, but in reality it’s a good time for all and kinda hilarious at 5am.

We also have a few shots of lady wrasslin’, the legendary and mysterious burrito men, and a camp set up by fire juggling steam punk maniacs RIFT (Rhythmic Illusions Fire Tribe). Oh there is also a terrifying wheel and some fire works. Whoop whoop.

How many Batmans is too many Batmans is a question I asked myself many times at the Gathering of the Juggalos. One of my Village Voice cohorts asked me why juggalos liked Batman so much. I had never really noticed until that moment but maybe 4% of all people were wearing Batman related clothing. So three days into our coverage we decided we need a juggalos are Batman gallery! We couldn’t actually talk our editors into running the Batman gallery across all 11 Voice Media papers but fuck it, I am going to post it here!

Before you look a this gallery you need to keep in mind we didn’t come up with this idea until late on day three of four days of the Gathering. That means nearly every one of these photos was taken on one day. That’s a lot of Batmans.

And yes, I realize this is a terrible idea for a post, but fuck you, it’s the weekend, go play outside or something. And calm down, theres’ just three juggalo posts left.

After this I only have four Gathering of the Juggalos posts left. The goal is to get two up on the slow weekend and then bust the last two out on Monday including everyone’s favorite yearly naked juggalettes post. For now I have some photos of “juggalo rides”. Much like the juggalo tattoos post, this was thought up by the Village Voice for a slideshow, but unlike the tattoos this one never ran.

I guess the idea was that everyone has all these interesting vehicles they cruise around the Gathering in so maybe we should document them, and then we could toss in actual amusement park rides and call it a day. Seemed easy enough but clearly it wasn’t compelling enough to end up as it’s own post… but clearly my editorial standards are a lot lower than the Voices.

The very first year I went to the Gathering of the Juggalos I did a post on juggalo tattoos. The Village Voice ran the same gallery and apparently it did pretty well because four years later they asked me to shoot tattoos again which ended up becoming this slide show. What’s funny is that several of the tattoos are in BOTH galleries and a couple of the juggalos I have become friends with over the years.

The hatchetman tattoo is pretty much on everyone. If you are a juggalo and you have any tattoos you probably have that shit somewhere. Sadly it’s not something gang task forces look for and make note of. I have heard stories of people getting kicked out of the military or the tattoo being used as evidence in custody hearings. It’s pretty insane, pun not intended.

I tried to focus on the bigger tattoos, the better tattoos and the much worse tattoos because of I didn’t this gallery could be 10,000 photos long. I saw some wicked Carebears, some impressive back pieces and even saw someone with a Twiztid tattoo that my friend Lamour Supreme did for their Mishka collab. That was pretty cool. One of these days I gotta get my own juggalo tattoo to memorialize my five years documenting one of the wildest subcultures in the world. Whoop whoop and shit.
