Fool’s Gold Records threw a party for the opening of Dust La Rock’s art show at the Christopher Henry Gallery. And while I was too sick to go out last night, I did anyway.  So instead of writing about the show, I am just going to leave you with the pictures.  I need to rest up, because despite my sickness, I have to be at Webster Hall tonight to see Trash Yourself.  I hope to see you there.

Listen, I am sick and I shouldn’t have been out last night.  I am just going to put these Cain shot up and not write about them because I want to lay on my couch and try not to die.  I have to shoot for the Voice in 4 hours and I need to relax.

I met this bondage model named Nyssa Nevers at the Exxxotica Convention in NJ and then I ran into her again in Vegas at the AEE.  We had talked online a number of times about shooting together but it just kept not happening.  I think I had sort of forgotten about it when she randomly appeared at the Black Dogs party at Angels & Kings the other day. We talked about how long she was going to be in town and we exchanged numbers and talked about ideas for the shoot… And then we blew that all off and got her naked in the bathroom.  Since we were at the Black Dogs book release we thought we should promote the book in the process.  I think Nyssa and I are going to shoot for real soon, but in the mean time check out the quick set we did in the bathroom of AK.  NSFW.

You ever sit on a couch with a bunch of stoned pot heads watching cartoons at 2 am? Well, imagine that times 200 people minus the cartoons. That’s what Studio B was like last night. The Village Voice sent me there to cover the High Times 420 party. There were only about 50 people downstairs in the main room of Studio B watching the Miss High Times Pageant because everyone else was on the roof deck getting stoned out of their minds. Now I don’t smoke the pot, and I never have. I got high exactly one time and I spent most of that time telling my friends how I wasn’t high… and then we went to IHOP. Weed makes boring things fun, which makes people who are high, very content to do nothing. This is the biggest danger with marijuana. If anti-drug commercials had just shown footage of my high school stoner friends watching Cartoon Network we would have won the war on drugs. Let’s just say that the party was not the most exciting event of my life.

That being said everyone was really nice, and it was cool to see these hippies get along with these thug dudes so well, everyone united in drugs. I was nervous that people wouldn’t want me taking pictures of them smoking, but everyone just wanted to know where they could see the photos. I would have spent more time up in the roof deck, where the real party was at, but I was getting sick from the smoke. When I got home that night I spent several minutes in pitch black darkness before I realized my power wasn’t off, I just hadn’t turned on the lights yet.

The Miss High Time Pageant was a weird thing. As you might have expected the crowd was 99% dudes, and they really enjoyed leering at the girls in their bikinis. I missed most of the talent contest, but the stage was filled with $1 bills. I am not sure what it is about smoking weed that makes you want to debase women so much… I know this sounds odd coming from a guy who tries to get girls naked all day, but some of the shit I saw was pretty fucked up. Anyway, the pageant didn’t exactly run so smoothly since the people running the contest and the people in the contest were both so fucking stoned. It was pretty hilarious and moved very slowly. If you think some of the answers Miss America contestants give are dumb, imagine if they had to give them high as fuck.

Okay, lastly, I just wanted to say that I don’t want this to come off like I am talking down to pot heads. I am not. I think weed is a pretty boring drug, but I know a lot of people that it has really helped and I certainly support medical marijuana. I have dated no less than 3 serious pot heads seriously.  And I think that if you are going to abuse a drug it is a far better choice that coke or booze… it is just not as much fun for me to take photos of…

One of the most exciting things about Twitter is that you have the ability to live blog so easily.  Twitter really soared in popularity when people started blogging major news stories in real time.  Using Twitter to live blog has been used my media and just everyday people to cover all sorts of exciting events.  My whole life is just a series of exciting events after another so this tool is very useful for me to bring you, the fan, into my wild and crazy life… Why just last week I brought you a live blog of Fast & Furious, just 7 days after it came out!  And today I took live blogging one step further… I live blogged from the post office!!

Personally I think drugs are for people who don’t know how to have fun, but really I am all about making the pot legal if only to piss off the right wing. Although I wish it was made legal when I was in high school so I could have back the time I spent sitting on a drug dealers couch watching Dragon Ball Z because my friends didn’t want to be rude and had to smoke a bowl with the dealer. Although I have to say I am much better at Soul Caliber when everyone else but me is high off their asses.
