Just A Few More Days…

Less than a week now until the election. Even with Barack Obama leading in the polls I am still extremely nervous. I am going down to Virginia on either Saturday or Sunday to help get out the vote. I have posted a few videos.

The first is a video about an old man getting to meet Obama. It pretty much made me tear up. Watching three generations of people work together in support of a candidate instead of against him is extremely inspiring. This is the most important election of our lives.

This video is his 30 minute prime time ad that he ran today on television. His live speech at the end is particularly worth watching, but I hope you will watch the whole thing.

This third video is specifically for my Virginian friends. It is a little primer on making sure you are prepared to vote on Tuesday. For any of my New Yorker friends who are leaving town to vote in a swing state, make sure you use an ID with the address of where you are registered to vote. If you have a New York ID but you are registered to vote in New Hampshire or something, bring your Voter ID card or your pass port, not your NY State ID. You don’t want to get turned away. And anyone out there, who is telling themselves that he is going to win anyway, or that NY is Blue anyway so why bother voting, don’t think that way. We need to give Obama a mandate. He needs to win the popular vote and win big. Philly friends, PA is a closer race than you think. DO NOT FORGET TO VOTE. Take off work, volunteer, and help make this world a better place.

Oh, and lastly, Republicans who read this blog, consider staying at home… I need health care. Thanks. Or at least watch these Errol Morris interviews with Republicans and Independents for Obama. Morris is one of the greatest documentary filmmakers who has ever lived, and one of my favorite directors on the planet. His videos are sensational…

I hope you’re not voting for Obama cause you think you’re getting free health care. Cause you’re not. You’re getting a choice of plans under existing insurers at what the Obama campaign deems as “affordable” rates. Whatever that is.

While his plan is not the socialized health care I would like, it is a big step in the right direction. Specifically his National Health Insurance Exchange that lets people buy into a similar program to the one congress has. Also there is a tax credit available for people who can’t afford even the “affordable” rates. Plus companies have to cover you even with preexisting conditions and maybe most importantly it gives tax breaks to small business that give health care to their employees so a wider range of working people will be covered for free.

Haha I actually decided to check out your website! It’s a really nice site you’re running.

Anyways, I’m glad to see another Barack Obama supporter! All my life I’ve been democrat and I always believed in their policies. I’m not very mature on politics, but I do have some reason to vote for Obama. When he said something about ending the war, it just totally made me side with him. There are other reasons too…like allowing gay marriages, protecting the environment…etc…I just agree with him..

Under ONE condition: I don’t really approve too much of how he wants to “spread the wealth.” I mean, for me it would be a GOOD thing because I just recently moved out of my house and I live on my own….so some rich family may have to lend some of their money to me. For the long run, it’s not necessarily a good idea because I don’t want to be giving part of my income to people who make less.

Last Monday I voted for Barack Obama in the polls. Unfortunately, my vote hardly does anything because Texas is an EXTREMELY republican state.

Oh yeah with the videos you posted, I already watched that Barack Obama documentation type thing on TV. I can’t stand watching prolonged online videos! haha. This comment was pretty much pointless, but hey, at least I’m giving you some traffic on your site!

To address your concerns of “spreading out the wealth” Obama’s tax plan only raises taxes on the very very small minority making a lot more money than anyone else.
rich people are not giving money to poor people, they are just having to pay higher taxes

and your vote is always important. VA was always a republican state, but slowly we are turning it blue.
