So what did beloved Burning Angel porn star and dear friend Jessie Lee do for her birthday? She had chick rockers Shiragirl fuck shit up at Public Assembly in Williamsburg, and with Shiragirl came the Real World Brooklyn. Once again the Real World has snuck into my life to see another friends band. First it was Semi Precious Weapons and now its Shiragirl. This time I did some apologizing to the cast for the drama I may have caused them particularly Chet Cannon and Scott. Chet wanted me to make it very clear that he is not engaged, and both of them know this sort of thing comes with the package of being on TV. When it is all over Chet is going to get a job in finance and Scott hopes to make it as an actor. Frankly, I wish them luck.

Anyway, so the reason they were there is because Devyn from the Real World was performing two songs with the band. According to Shira they met one night at Angels & Kings and they were talking about how they were both singers and such. Evidently Shira is trying to record an album while she is out here and the two decided it would be fun to put something together. I actually got some video of them, I will try to get that up later. Honestly I have been super busy and slightly blocked of late.  I feel like I am slacking, but fashion week and porn conventions kicked my ass.  This video has been all over the internet of late and I listen to it pretty much every day.  It is a Christian ska song called Jesus is my friend by Sonseed.  You can download the full CD here.  Hopefully I will have new real content soon.  I have some video and a few other things I just need to get together.  See you soon.

Exxxotica NYC is not actually in NYC.  It is in NJ.  It was going to be at least somewhere near NYC at the Meadowlands but they got kicked out and they ended up at the NJ Convention center, which was not that far away, but surely not to be confused with New York.  This was an adult industry showcase that featured porn stars by the bushel.  The event was sponsored by HotMovies, Featured my friend Doug’s Strip For Pain and of course Burning Angel showed up… So you know I had to be there.  It was a three day event, but I had to work Friday and watch the Dolphins lose Sunday so I only made it out for Saturday.  I think one day was more than enough though.  Despite all the madness it’s still a convention.  There were a lot of semi nude women roaming about, but they all just smiled and posed with creepy guys all day and signed autographs.  I wanted to hang out with my friends who were there, but they all had to pay attention to the fans and stuff.  I did have some fun though.  I met a girl who knows a bunch of my friends and has a HUG LIFE tattoo which is becoming increasingly common in our neck of the woods.  I spent a lot of time talking to her and the Pillow Fight League kids.  Steve Prue was there shooting and we talked shop a bit.  I found the Bombshell Bratz kids a web designer.  And Doug did his Strip For Pain thing like 10 times while I was there so I shot a lot of that.

Another thing about this convention is that it makes me realize how little I know about porn despite having a lot of porn friends.   I know a lot about “alt porn” but I didn’t recognize anyone.  The only people I knew there who weren’t alt people were Ron Jeremy who I have met several times now, Sasha Grey who is almost an alt girl and Jesse Jane who was on Entourage.

Speaking of Sasha Grey, anyone who mentions Werner Herzog and Monty Hellman among her favorite directors on myspace should be a friend of mine.  She has also worked with two of my porn friends Eon McKai and Joe Gallant.  I wanted to talk to her at the convention but she had a line of fans that seemed never ending. 

After the event I went back to the hotel where the BA kids were staying and hung out with the Pop Porn crew.  Stoya was there and we know like 1,000,000 of the same people and I feel like we bonded… but then again she was pretty drunk.  I also made friends with Lexi Love who seemed very unassuming and adorable until I Googled her.  She was pretty rad.  She lives in NYC so maybe I will have some photos of her naked on here one day.

There are like two hundred photos here, and I am not really excited about any of them.  The light was awful and nipples were completely banned.  It is pretty upsetting when it is more likely to see boobs at a bar than it is a porn convention.  Sigh…  You might dig the photos anyway, I guess there are some pretty funny ones.

Clearly we are a bit late filing this one, but better late than never. My friend Nick The Duke has been throwing a new weekly party at Porch. He was down a photographer so he asked me to cover. When he asked me it was early in the AM and I thought I was going to go back to sleep, but alas I did not. I ended up getting about four hours and I had to wake up early Friday AM, and early Saturday and early today and I really just wanted to sleep instead of shooting the party. I sucked it up though and got out there for an hour. The party just seemed to be getting fun when I left, but what can you do. Sometimes a man needs more than four hours of sleep. Fashion Week fucked me up.

Two of my friends bands just have new videos online. Both Prabir and The Substitutes and Gang are fucking awesome. Gang has a new live video out of their new B Side and Prabir has a new video out. I am going to be in NJ all day for this porn convention thing. DJ Mom Jeans AKA Danny Masterson was DJing at Arlo And Esme. His birthday was at SXSW at I was the photographer for the event he DJ’d on his birthday. I took a photo of him and Tokyo Police Club. I figured I should say hi. I was there for a bit, took photos of everyone, talked to some friends, met the tallest woman I have ever seen in real life and was ready to leave. On my way out I ran into Juliette Lewis who asked me to refer to her as Juliette Of The Spirit and to make sure to note that she was just an innocent bystander in all of this, just out for a quite night with friends. While showing her some photos, I accidentally hit her in the head with my flash. We talked about her forehead and miracle fruit and she hugged me. After at 10 minute conversation I was pretty much in love. My friend Kate was witness to the whole weird scene and said we would make a good couple. Clearly. After the NY Couture show I stopped by Annex to welcome Prince Terrence back to town.  He was on tour with Cold Play drumming for Santogold.  Crazy.  I feel like I haven’t shot High Voltage in ages.  I keep stopping by but on Wednesdays I am usually so tired from getting no sleep on Monday and Tuesday that I crash early.  Fashion week put a stop to that.  It was good to see everyone and we lit off bottle rockets until the cops came.  Good times, check the photos.

The New York Couture was pretty much the only fashion week event I went to last season. I sort of hate fashion, but I am sort of friends with a lot of the models that do shows like this so I had to show up. The problem is for the second season in a row I showed up late. I thought to show up early but I had to flavor trip with my roommate (more on that later) and couldn’t find parking and ended up getting there 10 min before 11. Luckily the show didn’t start until a while after 11, but unluckily the door girls had gone inside and I didn’t get a VIP bracelet until 10 min after the show started. I was relegated to the front and side of the stage so I missed all the posing and didn’t really have time to fuck with my lighting. That being said, I sort of thing runway photos are just not my thing anyway, and most of the good shots from last night were taken after the show. With the exception of some possibly questionable make up choices it seemed the show was a great success and fun was had by all. After the show they let just random people walk the cat walk as the after party raged on and that was pretty hilarious.

Oh, one other funny thing to mention. Mansion is sort of a trendy bottle service type club and I was wearing a cut off Michael Bolton t-shirt and Zach Morrisesque 1980’s sport jacket that is far too small for me and I thought I was going to get hassled getting in. Instead the door guy didn’t ask if I was on the list or ID me, he said “I love your shirt!” and just let me in in front of several other people. It was pretty hilarious.
