Agyness Deyn Nudie Pictures

So like the other day in the comments section of the Lilly Allen topless pictures I was talking about how celebrity nude photos are just an easy throw away post. It gets a lot of search engine traffic, gives me a quick post and has some sexy shit for you to look at. Anyway, to get that stuff I just put Egotastic on my RSS reader and just look at it when it has someone I have heard of naked on there. Today they had paparazzi shots of Agyness Deyn on there. She was posing for Ryan McGinley who for whatever reason I am not a huge fan of… although I probably should be. Anyway, she was naked on a fire escape and a bunch of people took shots of her up there. They were recreating a photo of a woman and her daughter falling to their deaths to escape a fire in their building (note: the daughter actually lived). The photo is one of my favorite images of all time. It won a Pulitzer in 1975 and I first saw it in a book of Pulitzer winning photos. Of all the amazing images in the book it is one of the ones that really stood out to me.

Anyway, I usually am all about posting naked celebrities, but I know Agyness. It is not like we are pals or anything, but she has always been nice to me and I wouldn’t post (unflattering) shots of anyone else I know naked on here… unless of course I took the photo. So yeah. Instead I am just going to post the photo that the shoot is inspired by… and if I see the finished work from McGinley, maybe I will post that here… but not the paparazzi shit. You are just going to have to look for it on Egostatic.

It’s always odd to hear another photographer trash the paparazzi business. It does require a camera. It does require being in the moment. It does require an ability to place yourself at the right angle to get the most dramatic shot. It does require some intelligence work to figure out where to get the shot in the first place (a police scanner doesn’t cut it). Do me a favor: go out and try and shoot some paparazzi shots before you trash the art form as a whole. There’s more to getting the shot than taking a cheap shot. I should know, because I shot some of the Agyness Deyn nude photos.

I wasnt trashing paparazzi. I was just saying that posting the results of an art project is different from posting the photos being taken by randoms on the street.

I am very okay with paparazzi as long as you aren’t fucking up somoenes life. I know a lot of celebrities love them and it keeps them in the spotlight. I have done some step and repeat shot and the pro guys will sooner trample you than miss a shot and that is not something i am interested in. Also, all of 90% the paparazzi work looks EXACTLY the same and is pretty fucking boring.
